Is this DVI-D or DVI-I? The images show both, and I need a DVI-I adapter. So, I would like to be sure.

As long as all the male to female connections are correct it should work.  You would just have an adapter plugged into an adapter into the VGA cable.

Hi. Will this adapter work with the displayport out from my Intel integrated graphic to the DVI in on my monitor? And also will doing so give me any benifits from just going VGA from the computer to monitor?

I bought this to hook up my 32" 1080 TV as a fourth monitor and it works great. The first adapter I got was not 'Active' and therefore would not work.

Does this (or any) DP to DVI adapter support Windows standard 2560 x 1440 resolution (with DVI dual-link)?  Sadly, Intel Ivy-Bridge mobos with integrated graphics provide 2560x1440 (or 2560x1600) only thru a DP interface, not DVI, thus creating the need for an DP to DVI dual-link adapter; but I've yet to find one that actually works.

No, this adapter only supports single link DVI. If you search for dual link active display port adapter you can find them, but they are still fairly expensive, at least as of the last time I looked.

For three monitor eyefinity do I need two active display ports or will one active display port, one passive display port, and one dvi work?

All the previous answers are correct.  If you can get away with only using one adapter, then go with that.  When it comes to adapters, and display software like eyefinity, always go active.  Passive adapters will not allow the display to be recognized properly by the eyefinity setup.

I'm just another guy running 3 monitor eyefinity setup.

I see a lot of talk about Eyefinity, but will this work for Nvidia 3D Surround as well?

I am using this display port adapter with a Sapphire Radeon HD8350 2GB video card (purchased at Newegg) which is provided with a third monitor output as Display port.  Yes, the active display port converter works properly with my setup and is assumed to pass the digital signal used by the DVI input on the monitor.  it is much sharper and true to color than SVGA.  it also registers on the monitor input as DVI.

Does it support 2560 x 1440 resolution if it's connected from display port of 4k video graphics card (Geforce GTX 960) to UHD 4k television set (Samsung 6950), using an adapter?  TV doesn't have display port input.
What other way is possible to get 4k resolution?

It supports up to 1920 x 1200.You need  a dual dvi
