Is this compatible with Windows 7-64bit?

Yes, when my old motherboard died, I replaced it with a MSI 970A-G46 which doesn't have an IDE controller and I didn't want to replade my 2X - IDE DVDRW/CD drives.  The card was recognized on first boot with no configuration necessary.  And yes, I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

Think this will work on windows 7 for a light scribe DVD burner???

It worked for me in my machine running Windows 7, supporting 2 old IDE hard drives.  It has been working fine now for almost 2 years.  I had to remove the jumpers from the hard drives in order for the card to recognize them.  No drivers were required.  If your DVD burner has jumpers, you might want to remove them for the first try.  Jumpers settings may take some experimentation.  By the way, I just upgraded the machine to Windows 10 and the card still works fine.

will the power supply connect to this?

There is no power supply connection necessary.  This plugs into the PCIE slot and power is supplied by that slot.

One disclaimer, in my Win7 corporate environment this is not auto detected with drivers installed.  Follow the driver installation as prescribed in the how to and it will work without a hitch.

Is it bootable from HDD connected to this card?

I bought this for use with dvd drives so hadn't tried it with a hard drive.  tried it with a hard drive.  I have been unable to boot it from the bios boot menu.  I used this card to install Debian Buster on an old Maxstore 250 gig drive.   I tried two mother boards one an old Gigabyte and the other a modern Asrock.  On the Asrock but not the gigabyte I was able to boot using "Super grub disk2."  On both mother boards I was able to boot using the grub boot manager from a preexisting Linux unstall.  but not from from the grub on the maxstore drive under test.  Short answer I don't think so,  maybe look for a boot manager, Windows might have one -- I'm not sure.  Haven't kept up with windows for a few years.  Seems to work fine once the OS is loaded.  Was able to open a few large files from a dvd under Windows.

Will this work with windows 98se? I know it is not listed but I'm wondering.

It worked fine in Windows 10, but now I don't use that OS, too many problems. In Windows 7 the Startech controller uses these drivers, "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" 1. atapi.sys, 2.ataport.sys, 3. pciide.sys, 4. pciidex.sys (all microsoft drivers) The IDE Channel uses drivers 1. atapi.sys, 2. ataport.sys (all microsoft drivers) There's no Startech drivers to install or any application.

Anyone tried using this card with windows 8.1 64 bit? also any thoughts on it working with the up coming windows 10?

thanks for the replies guys...clicking the Manufacturer product link does wonders lol...clearly states its compatible with win 8.1 64 bit...and after starting a live chat the support guy stated windows 10 will have native support for the card. hope this helps anyone else who's curious

Why this card must insert at front of PCIe display card? When I installed it behind of Display card then this card never was found from BIOS!
