Will this work with non-Gigabyte motherboards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It should work with any board with the proper slot available. I'm using it on an aging Asus MB (X58 chipset) with no issues.

Question 2

What chipset does this use? Is it Intel, Renesas, or some other type? Specifically I'm trying to see if this will work with a Kinect 2.0.

This U.S.B add on card uses an A.S Media controller. The website for the Kinect device says the performance of the device is not assured if you use a non Intel or Renesas controller for the U.S.B  add in card or motherboard solution. I think you should secure a device using the supported chipset for best results.

Question 3

Do you have to install the driver from the disk that come with the card or Windows 10 already has built-in driver for USB 3.1?

I don't know  about Windows 10 because I run Ubuntu Linux.  Linux saw it fine so it's automatically supported.  I did not have to install drivers on Linux.  I beleive you have to install drivers for WIndows 10.  That's pretty much how all their add on cards work going back to Windows 7/8.

Question 4

Does this card allow for Rapid Charging? I have a Nexus 6P and would like to use this to rapidly charge while also doing file transfers if I need to.

I installed this card into my PCI-E slot but it does not seem to be supporting fast charging.
