How did you setup the RAID? Was there a web GUI or did you have to hook it up to an external computer?

Also what operating system did you use to hook it up? Did you put an operating system on the device?

I have never used a centralized system before for storage, and right now all the servers I have are ubuntu and was wondering if I purchased this, would I be able to use it with ubuntu? Did you use a fiber connection or an ethernet one?

This is an external enclosure only for "Just a bunch of drives (JBOD)"  You will have to have another computer to hook up to this.

I bought a couple of IBM M1015 cards off of another website that allows you to bid on items and converted them to an LSI 9220-8i card. (Gsearch on how to do that)

I used internal sff-8087 cables to go the external sff-8088 inputs on this box. The software I used is called "FreeNAS" and works flawlessly..
