I bought this, it does NOT like to acknowledge my 3.0 devices. Is there something I can do to make it work?

Remember this merely extends the reach of your already installed USB3. If this is plugged into a USB2 connector it is merely extending the USB2 connection. If your computer does not have USB3 then you will need to buy an adapter card that plugs into a PCIe slot and then you can use this to extend or multiply your USB3 connections. This will not instantly create a USB3 port that must already be there before hand.
As far as this hub goes I have no qualms about it, it does it simple function well.
A USB3 adapter card is pretty cheap. Years ago I bought an Asus USB3/SATA3 card that needed a PCIe4x connection but geing that I had an extra PCIex16 slot, I stuck it in there.               Remember that prior to boot, no matter what devise you have installed, it will not initialized (work) with out the BIOS having knowing that it exists. So the downfall of all of these cards is that you have to wait for Windows to  load before they activate. My Backup drive is USB3 and when I backup under Windows it is amazingly fast BUT when I restore upon bootup it is painfully slow. USB3 versus USB2 modes. Same drive same USB3 hub plugging into the same USB3 adapter but Norton will not (nor Windows Backup) acknowledge the dard so it defaults to USB2. 
I hope this all helps. If you do not have a USB3 port you need an add-on card.
