Will this switch supports wireless keyboard and mouse ?

Absolutely.  My Microsoft wireless mouse works great. I just have the USB dingle plugged into it. I've been using this kvm switch a few years now and love it.  Yes it's a little expensive but if you want that dvi high resolution this is one reliable to do it. I use my Dell UltraSharp U2713HM monitor running at 2560x1440.

How long are the cables coming off of the switch?

about 4 feet.  This is approximate because I didn't want to take my setup apart to measure.  I also have a Single-Link 4port switch which has 6 foot cables.  The Dual-Link KVM is shorter by about a foot on my desk, and a foot under my desk, so I under estimated at 4 feet.  2 feet would work for me though, since the switch works on another cable the puts a button on my desk with length to spare.  See how the input is on the opposite side, so the box makes a Y cable - the button cable comes off the side.  My computers are side by side under my desk.  I think side by side is the best for this switch.  The GCS1104, which I also have, has 6 foot cables, and I've put computers on each side of my monitor.  That doesn't work with the GCS982U.  My monitor cable is long, so I have room to spare.

I HAVE AN IOGEAR WITH VGA PORTS CONNECTED TO TWO DESKTOPS AND ONE MONITOR. ON THE SAME DESKTOPS I HAVE DVI-D DUAL-LINKS PORTS ONE ON EACH DESKTOP. I WOULD LIKE TO USE THE DVI-D PORTS AND USE A 24 INCH MONITOR TO EXTEND BOTH DESKTOPS WHEN I SWITCH FROM ONE DESKTOP TO ANOTHER. DO I USE THE IOGEAR GCS982U FOR THIS PURPOES OR IS THERE ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE?

I think in your case, GCS982U was made exact for you, as long as your monitor has a DVI port (dual link or not) too. Plus, compared to the old IOGEAR VGA switch (I have a GCS62), this one has a audio switch so you can share one speaker with two computers. Another good thing I like the best is that I can now use one Logitech wireless keyboard (K270 in my case) and one Logitech wireless mouse (M705 in my case) with ONE (not two) unifying receiver and working perfectly.

Will this switch support 1920 X 1080 144Hz refresh rate?

I'm not sure about 144Hz because I don't have a monitor or video card to support it.  I do know this does 1920 x 1200 without a problem.

Is this product compatible with Apple computers?

OS is inconsequential for a KVM.  It's like asking if a particular tire is compatible with a diesel vs. a gasoline powered engine in a car. The KVM is a piece of hardware not software. So the short answer is yes. The more important question is "is your video card connector compatible with the KVM (VGA vs. DVI)" and "does my keyboard and mouse use the connectors received by the KVM switch?" If you have DVI out you'd need an adapter to fit this VGA port. If you have ps2 keyboard/mouse you'd need an adapter for each to fit these USB. Things like that.
