Read speed is claimed to be "up to 300 MB/s". I assume that "MB/s" means "MegaBits/sec" and "up to" means that is a burst speed (i.e. it may be attained for a few seconds at the beginning of a transfer, but will fall back to a lower number for a sustained transfer) And it says nothing about *write* speed. Does anyone have specs for *sustained* read and write speeds? Thanks!

Speedout test results show 238mps reads and 97mps writes. That's on a 2/3 full 2 year hold Samsung Fit drive 256MB used on a full time daily basis as a storage drive on a laptop.

Does someone have any specs on the idle & active heat? (Does it run hot?)

I don't know how you would measure temps on a thumb drive. For whatever it is worth, my 256GB Fit Thumb drive is a champ. It has never shown any signs that it is running hot and never feels hot to the touch. My Fit drive runs fast, but more slowly that the rated speed and it slows down as it reads and copies very large directories and large files. Nevertheless. I like it and may purchase another. Today's $40 price looks like a bargain to me.

Maybe but there is a memory device with (Lighting) to transfer Photos, Videos only.
