Question 1

I've been sing my PNY flash drive for about a year with no problem. Suddenly a week ago it started ejecting itself and saying I needed to eject correctly. I have tried it in several other ports, but it still self ejects after about a minute. I've tried running diagnostics on it, which doesn't work because it self ejects before the diagnosis finishes. I've even tried it in a different computer with the same result. What is to be done about this? I have files on the drive which I need. Thanks!

I would normally say check your USB drivers/update them but since you used it in another PC with the same results that may not be the case.  I'm using Windows 7 on all PCs and have had no issues.  I've only heard of this happening with Windows 8.

How do I download files to it when it ask to insert a disk?

When I get "Insert a Disk" I usually find I am  not on the right drive. I have several drives on my computer and If I select the wrong drive letter say K/: instead of L/: . Check which drive you should be using I sometimes pull the Flash drive out and see which drive letter goes away.
