Question 1

Will this product work with my Iphone; Apple has made it difficult to use any product that is not of their making?

Accepted Answer

Since it only has USB connectors, I don't know how you would attach it.
It certainly can be used attached to your computer to back up your phone.
I am unaware of any adapter to directly attach it to the iPhone.

Question 2

Two questions:

1) I have an HTC One. It can only read FAT32, not NTFS or exFAT. All phones may be like this, I don't know. The question is this: is the 64GB Patriot Stellar FAT32?

2) While the Patriot Stellar is plugged into my HTC One, if the USB side was plugged into an male/female USB extension, then the extension was plugged into a computer or AC power, would my phone be charged at the same time?

1) I don't remember what the formatting was out of the box, but you can certainly format it yourself (I did)

2) Unfortunately no. I tried that myself, and it didn't work. Makes sense though: you wouldn't want the phone and computer trying to write to the memory at the same time.

Question 3

Can I use this for my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone?

I don't own a Note 4 but I have used this with multiple devices running Jelly Bean, Kit Kat or Lollipop. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), etc...They all worked. I bet it would work perfectly with a Note 4.

Question 4

Can I store all of my music from my computer on this I have a lot of albums and songs? I have windows 7 pro.

If your collection fits in 64GB, then you could store it all. Check on your computer looking at the properties of the folder (for Windows, open Windows Explorer, find the folder with the music, right-click and then select Properties) where you have your music stored.

Question 5

Is it compatible with Kindle Fire HD 8.9?

It seems to be a standard usb drive, just very fast, usb version 3.0 I think.  I have a new laptop that has 3.0 usb ports, and they are amazingly fast together.  Check your kindle literature, see if it is ok with faster thumb drives than the unit.  If the unit has 3.0 usb ports, then this drive would be perfect, I would think.

Question 6

Not all android phones have same standard charger pin.
So which Android phoned does it supports?
Does it support Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. ?

I don't have a complete list but I know it works on my Asus Nexus 7 Tablet, My wife's Samsung Tab 3 8" tablet. It does not work on my HTC Inspire 4G Phone.

Question 7

I have had trouble finding USB 3.0 enabled OTG drives. Does this truly transfer at 3.0 speeds (or realistically, at least above 2.0) while using OTG?

Built in OTG support on this device is 2.0 only. Speed is decent. Not sure if or which phones/tablets have 3.0 OTG host support, but if any do, you could get an adapter cable.

Question 8

Would a Nexus 4 android phone need to be rooted to use this as external music storage?

It shouldn't, depending on the program if you can choose where the program stores music you should be fine.  The Nexus 4 has OTG support so this would appear as say /storage/UsbDriveA

The only reason to need root when using this is if the drive was formatted NTFS which may not be supported except with the use of the third party program which requires root. Even then if there is nothing on it and you don't need that NTFS, let the phone reformat it.
