Is this flash drive 2.0 compatible?

I'm assuming you mean since it's USB 3.0 will it work in a USB 2.0 port?  The answer is YES it will but at 2.0 speeds.  ALL USB 3.0 stuff is supposed to be backward compatible according to the specifications.

I've done it at home with this device on a laptop that has only 2.0 version USB ports and it's totally compatible although slower as expected.

I have a mac- will it work?

The drive will work. However, depending on what file system it's using, OS X will only be able to read from it. If the drive uses an NTFS partition, you will have to format it as FAT32 or exFAT. This can be done with the tools built into OS X or Windows.

What are the file transfer speeds on this device?

0 Mbps.

I say this because this drive is complete crap.  It worked for about a month, then started to disappear and need disconnect and reconnecting, then stopped working altogether.

I have a ticket in with Corsair that I have yet to hear a response on (despite an instant e-mail saying they'd respond within 1 business day, it has been 3 now).

I should have known better when I bought a Corsair SSD last year and it was DOA.  Not to mention the Corsair memory that I purchased that was determined to be faulty and was identified as the source of random reboots in a newly built machine.

Bottom line, if it says Corsair, DO NOT BUY IT.  Pure and utter garbage

Including loop on end that sticks out for a strap, the device is 2 3/4"x7/8"x7/16" at widest points.  The device curves in slightly at each end to about 3/4"

will this work as well as an external USB SSD as source drive for video editing?

As others said it would work but the difference between the speed of an actual SSD and flash drives are very noticeable. Unless you plan on using many different computers I would suggest purchasing a SATA drive at the bare minimum and even then this is still better off being purely a means to transfer data than being used as a permanent drive.

As the file gets larger write time slows to as low as 10 MG/sec at 3-4 gm for pictures measured by user in  California.

Tested using CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3. Drive was formatted as exFAT, and had 100 GB free of 115 GB formatted capacity. Results are averages of 5 tests using 1 GB files.
Sequential Read: 152.9 MB/s
Sequential Write: 38.38 MB/s
Random Read (512 KB): 134.2 MB/s
Random Write (512 KB): 1.366 MB/s
Random Read (4 KB): 7.482 MB/s
Random Write (4KB): .019 MB/s

What is the speed of this flash drive? and if there led light when it is working?

The speed isn't listed and in comparison to a Corsair USB3 I have, it's slower. Yes, there is an indicator LED on the end.

WHY isn't the Transfer Speeds listed ANYWHERE, Not only are they not on the Egg but I could not find them on Corsairs Site either after running through about 300 pages of 6 different PDF's?? Come on Guys Something to Hide?And Who said the Max transfer of a USB 3.0 Port is 49 mbs? You better learn how to read!!!

 I used the same USB 3 port for all 3 drives. After testing in all 3 available USB3 ports and determining the fastest one (About 20% differences from slowest to fastest port on my computer). 29 minutes to transfer 23.7GB MP3 files 4,282 files ranging from 202KB to 27,461KB then transferred 12.7GB JPEG files 6,836 in 9 minutes ranging from 1KB to 5.6MB then transferred my other folders over with no problem such as favorites videos and such total about 42 billion Bytes of data in less than 50 minutes
