Is the formatting FAT32?

you can format it either way, FAT32 or NTSF. Just remember that FAT32 DOES NOT work transferring bigger files over 4GB, so use it in NTSF instead. I've had no issues switching from one to the other. One thing some folks don't know about USB 3.0 is that, connected to a USB 3.0 port, the flash drive will feel noticeably warmer than "normal", due to the amount of data and speed you transfer. But the stick won't "burn out" or overheat, it just feels warmer than what you might be used to with older (USB 1.1, 2.0) flash drive speeds.
