I use this USB drive on the PC side of my MAC, but I tried it and MAC recognized it immediately. I created a new folder and copied a file into new folder on the MAC side with no problems. It is larger than your standard stick, but feels very solid.

I want to store photos as a back up, is the thumb drive reliable method? I have had back luck with basic external drives, I have 56,000 photos. thanks, mike

Hi I believe you cant go wrong with this besides it transfers very fast. I just say you have a USB 3.0 slot on your computer or will upgrade to one in the future to take advantage of the great speed. if you are using USB 2.0 and don't see any future upgrade to your current computer. then I would recommend getting a USB 2.0 flash drive. save some money. also protect your drive, from moisture, heat dirt, dust and grit. definitely don't take it to the beach. you should be fine.

I purchased this and the fastest speed I have seen so far is 4mb/s. Most times it is struggling to even break 1mb/s. I have no idea why, I've tried multiple computers, both usb2 and usb3, reformating the drive. ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've contacted Team Xtreem but am waiting to hear back.

I confirmed my write speeds on a 48GB folder copy. This was running windows 8.1 on a USB3 port. The speed ran between 60MB/s to 160MB/s, and averaged around 100MB/s. It took between 5 to 10 minutes to copy the entire folder. I did not time it exactly, so that is a rough guess.
