The screen is matte.  I bought two monitors and love them.  The colors and brightness are awesome.  I highly recommend this monitor and love the Newegg experience.

Does this monitor comes with a wall mount?

Hello and welcome.  To answer your question, No it does not but it does have the Vesa mounting holes so that once purchased separately (the mounting arm) it can be secured to the monitor and the base removed.

Are there speakers built in?

No speakers built in.  Otherwise, fine product.  Easy to set up and works well.  Acer is good brand.  I didn't need speakers.

Can this monitor be rotated vertical?

Accepted Answer

No. The stand fits into a slot on the bottom with the screen in widescreen orientation as shown in the picture.

However, the monitor is VESA compatible, which means there are threads on the back, and there are numerous "monitor mount" products that allow you to rotate your screen 90 degrees.

Look up "VESA monitor mount" and make sure you have the correct size, there are a couple different sizes.

Question 5

I bought three of these and they all make a creaking noise when turned on. Sounds like the plastic bezel is expanding and contracting. It seems to decrease in frequency the longer the monitor is on, but its almost like popcorn popping when all three are turned on at first.
The picture is perfect and I am impressed with them.
Is this normal for new led monitors and these monitors in particular?
I am using a triple monitor mount, but I believe I can rule the mount out because they don't make the noise when the monitors are off.

Hey Jonathan. No, this is not normal for new led monitors and these monitors in particular. I have purchased 4 of these particular monitors over the past year for my business and have not had any problems with them at all. The picture is perfect just like you said and I have been very impressed with them as well. I am using 2 double monitor mounts, 4 monitors total and have not experienced any creaking noises when all 4 are turned on. Before  upgrading to this Acer 23" LED monitor I had three Acer 21" LED monitors that worked great as well. I never had any problems with the picture quality and did not experience any noises when all three monitors were turned on.

will it have plug in for external speakers?

No, there is no plug for external speakers.  If you are using the monitor with a laptop or desktop computer, you can just plug the speakers into the headphones or speaker output jack.

Question 7

What are the dimensions with the stand included? AS in how high off the table is the top of it?

The bottom of the monitor comes to 6.5 cm off the surface on which the base is sitting.  the top of the monitor reports just under 40 cm.  It can tilt a little, so those measures can change, depending on the angle, but hardly noticeable.

Is this monitor decent for using with a 2g video card HD? I am a gamer and want the best possible picture. The game I play is WoW.

TL;DR It'll probably be good, esp if you had a super old monitor, but check your video card.

It all depends on the video card. The amount of video ram it has isn't a clear indicator of how well the game is going to run. It's a factor of how powerful the card is, how many processors and pipelines it has, and how well it can access the video ram in question. Video ram mostly rules over how well higher resolutions run.

I will say that if you are used to a much worse/smaller monitor (this one is natively at 1080p 1920x1080) this will look incredible next to it. And nowadays, 1080p isn't exactly the most intensive of resolutions.

And up until the last expansion, just about anything would run WoW decently, but they are revising all the models in the engine and will probably require stronger hardware to run with all the bells and whistles on.

If you have a Geforce GT 610, (2 gig of video ram) it's probably not going to run that well.

If you have a Radeon R270X or a Geforce 770 GTX (also 2 gig of video ram) it'll probably run smoother than a slip and slide with all the bells and whistles.

We have 3 of these on the wife's work computer. The monitor uses a matte screen, rather than a glossy one.  For info, matte sacrifices a little of contrast to reduce glare. Most viewers will not notice the difference. (I will add that we play no games on these monitors, so cannot comment on any factors relating to them.)
