28" is TN Panel lighting, 27" is IPS. TN is faster response but has lesser viewing angle. It's great for gaming. IPS panel is wider angle but slower response. It's a newer technology so likely more expensive. That's about the only explanation I can think of.

Can only he done in 1080p IIRC. Honestly doesnt work that well in any case. I'd buy it for 60hz or get the 144hz models if you want it. The OC is meh.

Hi Robert, to Answer your question , As for the location of the speakers, if you look on the back underneath were you connect your hdmi, display port cables, you will see 2 little vents in the plastic housing to the right and left of were u plug in the cables. That's your speakers , so with the monitor in its normal upright position those 2 speakers will by firing sound downwards on your computer desk. I have tried those speakers to see how they are, not bad for general use. however if your a gamer and are looking for that hi quality sound to aid you in the the game , then i would recommend using a sound card and headset. Newegg has those as well, i hoped this helped you.

Is it height adjustable?

Yes, it is adjustable in all directions (up, down, left, right, and tilt).  It is a cool design that you just push it to adjust, there is nothing to loosen or anything.

Ive had this monitor for a few days and I get what I think is screen tearing with nvidia 1080 ti and sync on I have to have vsync on also. I read on the Acer forum a guy had the problem and fixed it by returning the monitor. Does any one else have this problem?

I have had no issues with my Acer monitor , it performs very well for me, i love the vibrant colors and gaming performance it gives me. Im using display port as my primary connection, as a matter of fact, to get Nvidia Gsync to function or even properly to work you need to be using the display port option as your primary connection to the monitor. Then once its connected and confirmed in Nvidia control panel, you can turn off vsync in games you play under there graphics settings. As amatter of fact if u leave vsync on in games while using Gsync turned on , u will get artifacts and tearing. Hope this Helps out.

Does this monitor have a fan inside for the G-sync chip?

I have no idea, but I've never heard a fan whirring. I do know that I've had my monitor for around a year and have had no problems with the G-sync or anything like that. It's glorious!
