I received this monitor but I can not get any audio from the HDMI connection using my laptop?   no audio from HDMI connection.

Did you try connecting a separate audio cable from your audio out port?  Or there might be a setting on your audio control panel to send audio via HDMI.  Normally the sound card is a different integral part of your computer.  If you are able - try that.  But remember - the speakers on this are pretty small anyways - so you aren't going to get a loud audio output.

I have never seen a monitor come with an HDMI cable.  It can be an expensive component depending on the length you need and the quality you purchase.  So I would say this defiantly doesn't come with one, and I didn't get one with it.  Don't skimp on it if you are gaming with the monitor.

Does this come with a VGA input? I will use this to connect to my laptop? BTW, can it display 1280x1024?

Yes it does include a VGA (D-SUB) Port and also an HDMI port. A VGA (D-SUB) Cable is also included.

Yep, there's an HDMI connection on the back and it doesn't require any special drivers. Plug n play!

Is this monitor compatible with a dual mount?

yes - it has a removable base and 100mm VESA mounting holes on the back. If you have a dual monitor base with 100mm VESA mounts on it, and enough space between the two mounts to accommodate the size of monitors you want, this model will work.

is the screen matte/dull or is it glossy?  (not referring to the advertised glossy bezel)

It is matte.  I wish more monitors were.  The bezel is definitely glossy, tho.  Lots of reflections from that part.  I'm tempted to take some sandpaper to the bezel.  :)

Does this monitor have sound? Or an av out?

The unit has a standard d-sub (VGA analog) plug - it does NOT have a DVI-I (digital) plug.  It also has an HDMI video input plug, which is compatible with most Blu-ray and DVD players.  I do not see any speakers on it, but it does have a headphones output jack in the back.  I'm assuming the sound would be produced from the HDMI input patch, since normal VGA does not pass sound that I am aware of. So, you could use this for viewing DVD's through a HDMI wire and normal DVD player, and connect a set of headphones, or regular style computer speakers to it, or, as a regular computer monitor WITHOUT sound (unless you used HDMI and external speakers).

From a purely user standpoint, it has a single joystick-style "nub" on the bottom center for on/off/menu functions - which I found easy to use.  Screen has bright output, balanced video, and hi-resolution.  The screen also can be tilted forwards or backwards.  I do not know what an "av out" plug is (assuming audio-visual RCA plug).  If you are talking about an extra pass-through RCA video plug - no, it does not have one of those.  With the exception of not having the Digital DVI-I plug, it works for everything else I can think of as a monitor.  If you wish to use DVI-I on it, they make a plug converter from DVI-I female to VGA male. And if you need AV style output, I'm guessing they also make a DVI-I or VGA to RCA style splitter plugs. Although without more information about the application - I can't help you more.  I am not aware of any inexpensive monitor that has RCA based plugs on it as a pass-though system.

what's all the features on this? I looked it up on Lg and it seemed to be the same, does this monitor have Color cloning, 4-screen split, super plus resolution, smart energy saving, color wizard, flicker safe and reader mode? I'm looking between this and another monitor that seems to have the same number and I'm wondering if they are the same.

Would you use any of that?  They are SELLING tools.   it's like putting "tactical" in front of a pair of pants and charging more.  All monitors I have seen either have in circuit power saving or Operating system monitor off modes.  Resolution is part of the specs, and they all have different monitor modes within respects of "vivid, games, sport, etc" built into them usually for contrast and brightness - although these can be adjusted separately.  it's a $200 dollar monitor ($104 if you get it on sale) - it doesn't belong on a high end gaming system, but will work fine on anything else.
