is this an 1080HD monitor ?

This monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1080, which makes it capable of displaying HD video. Also as stated in the specs, it does NOT have an HDMI input, which might be what you are looking for. Also I suggest that you carefully read the reviews on this monitor, as I found it useful only in special conditions. For general viewing, the display does appear washed out and very low contrast. You may wish to consider other monitors, depending on your intended use.

HDMI port VGA plug-in ?

VGA & DVI (No HDMI). This is a nice monitor and a great value. I bought more than 1 and I'm very happy with them.

Can I use this monitor for a Macbook Pro, provided I have the proper cables?

I believe you can use any display, provided you have the correct adapter.

Is this VESA mount compatible?

OK, thanks. Not sure why that would necessarily preclude VESA mount, though.
