Pros: -Wonderful color
-Freesync mode works great
-Great Blacks (after adjusting Black stabalization)
-Very bright screen
Cons: -Buttons in back are a bit annoying to use
-Does require some set up
-OSD feels ancient and not very user friendly
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this product. Cheapest Freesync monitor available. Make sure you get a DP cable or you will not be able to enable free sync. Also be sure to go the the advanced image adjust in monitor settings and turn on Freesync and Increase Response time to Ultra fast to avoid ghosting issues. It is set to standard by default. While you are doing that turn on low input lag. You would think these would be on by default but they are not. I also had to update drivers for monitor because pc was not identifying it as VX2457, only as generic monitor. Just updated drivers and Was good to go. I used WEB settings for auto adjust and then turned down black stabilization.
Pros: - Excellent monitor on all counts for gaming. No issues with ghosting, visual quality, etc.
- Very good color balance and brightness.
- Supports both HDMI and DisplayPort.
- The built-in speakers are surprisingly decent. They are no match for proper speakers or headphones, but I use the monitor sound frequently if I don't feel like wearing my headphones.
Cons: None to speak of.
Overall Review: I bought this because my old monitor stopped working after about 7+ years, and I wanted a gaming monitor that supported AMD FreeSync. I later upgraded to a more powerful nVidia card and this monitor is still perfectly fine. If I were to buy another monitor today, this would be top of my list for sure.
Pros: - Pictures is crisp, clear and bright for video & games
- FreeSync doesn't produce a huge change, but it's noticeable
- Legacy VGA port is a nice touch, as I frequently work with older systems
- Newegg super saver shipping arrived in two days!!!
Cons: - Stand is stable and easy to install, but the monitor WILL move if you knock the desk
- Menu is difficult to use with the buttons positioned behind the monitor
Overall Review: To explain the title, I decided to purchase the 27" version of this monitor, and initially regretted it. A 27" monitor is pretty big... and you sit a lot closer to your PC monitor than you realize sometimes. It's almost too big for it's use. That said, I've since adjusted... but if I were able to make the decision again I would chose to go with the 23.6" version of this same monitor.
Menu is straight forward, but made difficult to navigate as the button positioning isn't intuitive for me. Even after making several changes over the course of a few days, I constantly press the wrong buttons... once configured no one cares, but it's mildly frustrating...
None of the cons warrant a reduced rating, as... for the price... this monitor is great. My opinion may be bias, as this is the first HD display I've worked with (monitor or otherwise) however it does what I intended it for... good'nuf!
Pros: Wide Screen
Multiple Inputs! (HDMI, Display Port and VGA)
Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Overall Review: As a note, the monitor does not automatically turn on when initial power is applied nor are there indicators that power is applied and the monitor is simple "off".
All of the control buttons are directly behind the front fascia where the indicator symbols for the buttons live (bottom right of the screen). One touch of the power button and the display turns on and is showing images in seconds!
Pros: Monitor looks amazing. I heard TN monitors are lacking picture quality but it turned out to look much better than either of my 4-5 year old IPS monitors. Very little ghosting in games and the jump from 60fps to 75fps is noticeable. I don't have AMD so can't use freesync but still for the price it's great.
Cons: Don't use response time at it's highest setting, causes strange black ghosting effect. The color presets are all useless along with dynamic contrast. Set to native standard settings and tweak brightness, contrast and it's fine.
Pros: As good or better than even any non-freesync monitor in this price range.
Freesync from 47 to 76 Hz works great. No more vsync stutter.
Color, brightness, contrast all very very good for this type of monitor
2ms response time
Display Port, HDMI input
A few extras like black balance also elevates the picture quality
Cons: Why is there a VGA input instead of DVI?
Stand is a little flimsy but does the job fine.
I personally love the simple elegant look, but some have complained about it being a "fingerprint magnet" or lacking detail. I like simply looking electronics, but if you want something more garish, this may not be for you.
Overall Review: I paired this with an AMD RX480 and it plays everything at 1080p Max Details at 65-75fps and keeps the image solid and smooth
Pros: - Cheap
- 24 Inch
- Built In Speakers
- Low Input lag
- Great looking especially for a TN panel
- The bump from 75hz from 60hz is a nice little bonus
Cons: - Ghosting is kinda bad
- Does not come with a display port cable
Overall Review: Really great monitor don't have much to say about it. Coming from a standard HDTV this is such a massive improvement and if you have AMD and looking for a cheap gaming monitor this is your best option. Good job Viewsonic for some reason you seem to have a negative stigma around you at least in my group of friends but, this monitor proves them wrong.
Pros: I was able to mount a pair by 100 VESA to a desk stand. My laptop had one HDMI and one DisplayPort. They both worked flawlessly. The stands are easy to add and remove.
Cons: The speakers are dull and tinny but can be loud. If you require speakers from a monitor, you probably won't care if that don't pump out massive bass.
Overall Review: You will have to remove a few screws in order to mount the VESA, but it takes less than a minute and it's worth it. This was a good value. I bought two and I'd recommend it to anyone else looking for a pair of monitors this size.
