Does this item come with a travel cover?

Sorry, I answered incorrectly earlier today.  YES, it did come with a black carry case (which I never used).  I purchased it over a year ago... earlier, I was thinking of another item I had purchased.  It's a nice monitor and worth the price!

Question 2

Does this require 2 separate USB 3.0 slots to work, or is it all in one?

The LCD monitor package comes with a USB cable.  One end of the cable is split with 2 connectors.  Both USB connectors have to plug into your laptop (or desktop).  So, the answer is it requires 2 USB slots on your laptop (or desktop).
By the way, this LCD will work only if the driver (which comes with the CD in the package) is being installed.  My unit is running Windows 7.  Make sure the driver will be compatible with your OS.

Question 3

Without a VGA port, can this monitor be daisy chained to have multiple monitors be displaying the same screen as a single computer? (i.e. for presentations, meetings etc)

Monitor is USB only, so not exactly sure why VGA is relavent.

Requires available USB port on host PC. Will work with USB 2.0, but may exhibit performance issues. Best performance using USB 3.0.

Multiple monitors cannot be daisy chained. Requires separate USB port on host PC for each monitor. Also draws power from USB bus. Host PC may not be able to provide sufficient power to drive multiple monitors. May require external USB hub with external power supply.

Note that supplied USB cable is short (about 1 meter). You may need to purchase longer micro USB 3.0 cables (I use a 15 foot cable).

Uses DisplayLink software/driver. Recommend you download latest from www dot displaylink dot com.

When using do you see performance issues having this as an extended desktop?

i use this monitor as an extended desktop all the time. i have had for over a year with no issues. although i use it only for work which primarily web browsing, and microsoft office products. the one thing i dislike about this monitor is the proprietary connection on the monitor itself. it has problems where i have to fidget with the cord and let it sit just right for the display to work. rather annoying, but it has always worked after a few minutes.

Does this monitor have to have a USB 3.0 port to work, or can a laptop with only USB 2.0 ports run this?

It works in both my computer with USB 3.0 and my wife's computer with USB 2.0.  If you are using USB 2.0 there is a second USB connector that the panel uses to draw additional power.  I personally found this not to be necessary for my wife's computer, but may be required in your situation.  Both my computer and my wife's computer are made by Lenovo.

Will this work as the only monitor for a desktop?

It should work as a main desktop monitor but you could get much better graphics with an HDMI or VGA connection. This AOC has a USB connection so the graphics are not quite as crisp.

Yes, this monitor is compatible with Windows 10. I use it with Win10 regularly. It has been a great monitor. I have had it well over a year. Very portable, very reliable. The brightness, resolution, and color quality are all very good. I use it for everyday applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, web browsing, etc.

can it be mounted on a mounting arm using vesa 75 x 75?

No.  There are no mounting holes on the model I purchased.  It is made to sit on a table or other flat surface.

do you have to have a computer for it to work?

It is perfect for my laptop.  I can do a presentation without a huge projector if I'm meeting with a few people.  Best purchase ever and everyone wants to know where i got it!

Question 10

I just ordered to use with my Macbook Air (which does not have a disc drive).  Is it compatible as is or do I have to purchase a disc reader in order to use it?

You will need to download the DisplayLink driver to run this display; it does not require a disc.

I would consider it a feature that this display uses standard "DisplayLink", which is a cross-platform USB Display driver.
