Can this allow you to make to adjust the monitor so that it sits vertically? If so, is it as simple as turning it vertical? or do you have to put a bit of work into it?

Accepted Answer

Each mount allows you to turn the monitor 90 degrees.
It is not a smooth action as the mount is sort of like a friction/compression setting to hold the monitor's position in place but it does work a little bit of muscle.
I have found I have to hold and rotate the monitor while holding the back of the mount sometimes.

You can only rotate it one way 90 degrees.  Not a 360 rotation.
If you zoom in and look closely at the middle of each mounting square, you will see a small 1/4 round slot with a small guide post.  This the only amount of rotation that can be done.

Also, just as a heads up, to consider the max height of the stand and the greatest length of your monitor.  When you rotate, make sure your monitor is not so long that it does not get stopped by the desk!
Another thing is your cable length.  When dealing with a dual monitor stand, your monitor cables will have to be as long as the furthest monitor's connections.

Question 2

Can one of the monitors easily be rotated around so that someone on the side could view the monitor?

Accepted Answer

Either of the monitors can be rotated around beyond 180 degrees.  Once you go much past 90 degrees it becomes obvious that the base attachment needs to be installed because it gets off balance.
