Does this monitor come with built in speakers?

No but it does have jack for headphones or powered speakers.  Assume it would only work if using the HDMI input but I haven't tried it

No, just AV component and DVI cables are included. Although this does  have a port if you would rather use an HDMI cable instead of DVI.

No, no speakers. It does have audio-out in case there is audio coming through the HDMI. For example, you could hookup a Blu-Ray player to this and then use the audio out with a pair of speakers, effectively using the monitor as a TV and without a computer attached.

It comes with the standard video cables (VGA and DVI) and the power cable of course, but it does not come with an HDMI cable. You'll need to purchase that separately if you wish to use that for output.

can you rotate this display 90deg  either by rotating the display on the stand or remove the display from the mount and then re-attach?

Accepted Answer

You can, but it was not meant to be rotated. It is the most stable in the normal position; however because the base is screwed to the monitor itself it can be done, albeit somewhat unstable.

Is the monitor tilt adjustable on the base provided?

The base on this monitor does tilt but the range of motion is somewhat limited.

Description does not state that it has VGA.... but can you confirm or deny that it does or so not?

I have 3 of these I purchased a couple years ago and all have DVI, HDMI, and VGA ports; 1 of each.

No, it doesn't have speakers. You need an external solution for the audio. I just connected my Bluetooth speaker input to the monitor's output jack, did the trick.

I own this. When I turn off any device plugged into the HDMI port and then turn it back on the monitor doesn't detect that the device is on again. So to fix this I have to turn the monitor off and then back on again. When I "restart" a device I don't have to turn my monitor off and back on again like when it's just powered off normally. It seems when I use the DVI port I don't have this problem. Anyone else have this problem or a known fix?

I've been talking with ASUS support about this for over a month! I even sent it in to them and in their test, they didn't have this problem so it must have something to do with non-Asus motherboards or some unknown setting in Windows 7. I have tried this on 3 different computer, 2 with gigabyte motherboard and 1 with ASROCK. On each PC, I tried both integrated grapahics and the GPU , so six test, and every time the monitor failed to wake. I RMA'd it back to Newegg, same thing. Now ASUS is offering to upgrade me to another monitor but it's not an upgrade in my opinion.
