Hello, I am building my own custom PC. I am recently new to this, and I am switching from a Mac to Windows. So, please correct me if I'm wrong, is Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) compatible with this monitor?

Yes, it is. I have a custom PC that I built and have 3 of these monitors attached (had to install multiple graphic cards). I love the setup, the large monitors are great. The only drawback is I wish the monitor volume could be a little louder, but is not a deal breaker.

It is a great monitor, with 1080 HD, but no, it does not have VESA capabilities.

Question 3

I'm trying to hook up a pair of harman/kardon 2.1 speakers to the monitor, but there's little to no bass coming out while playing a PlayStation 3 or while on my pc is there a fix for this or no? also is there any reason why i have to put my speakers to max just to here it decently?

Technically there should be no difference whatsoever whether you hook your 2.1 system to the monitor (as long as the audio system has its own separate power supply) or to the PCs mainboard directly. But in this case try hooking the Harman/Kardon (which by the way is an excellent piece of hardware) directly to the PC. Check out the connectors at the back of your Desktop; there have to be Audio Outputs.

(One more thing: did you install the software that came with the monitor ? I know that the webcam won't work without the software. So who knows what else does not work without the provided software).

Question 4

The display is not adjustable in height. Is it possible to remove the leg down and add a different piece than adjusts the height? What can you recommend me?

i dont think a different stand will work. you can put something under it  to keep it raised. Small Plastic drawers. Etc. Any other will not fit where it screed into the screen. But it can be attached to the wall.

I'm also hearing that sometimes these monitors with built-in webcam doesn't have a built in mic. It seems one should go with the other but again some have told me to be careful. Does this monitor come with a built in mic? Thanks again!

Nope, no built in mic. I wish I had know that when I ordered it too, when I saw the camera I just assumed it would be paired with a mic and didn't bother to scour the specs for one.

any way to get the hdmi cords that came with this because  apparentely i lost mine and the new ones i ordered don't seem to be working?

Any HDMI cable should work as long as it is of quality. May be a problem with the monitor if you've tried different HDMIs

Can anyone answer this.... If I plan on hooking this up to a mac mini will the webcam be compatible with FaceTime? I know facetime requires a Universal Video Compatible web cam. Will this do the trick? Thanks for your help.

I beleive you also need to run a USB from you mac to the monitor as well for the camera to work but as long as you install the monitor to the mac and it is compatible, then it should work just fine.
