Not sure how many hz. Flat panel monitors are typically measured in ms not hz. It is 5ms which is not bad. The best I've ever seen is 2ms (which I have on a gaming build) if you plan to do much graphic intense gaming, I would try to find something 2ms. Hope this helps! Good luck

What kind of graphic card can you use for this thing. The DVI port looks like its DVI-D single link. It seems like most graphic cards dvi ports are DVI-I or DVI-D?

Any graphics card that has standard Analog and digital outputs so long as you have the correct adaptors.

My graphics card has VGA, Mini-Display Port, and HDMI output and this monitor displays all as long as I've used the correct adaptor. I have used HDMI to DVI, VGA, and Mini-DisplayPort to DVI inputs for this monitor.

I am currently using Minidisplay port to DVI Active adaptor from Sapphire. (This is for a Downsampling Display method but standard connectivity works just fine).

My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD7000 series graphics card.

Question 4

Could this monitor be used to extend a current monitor connected via vga? I have one monitor connected via vga and I'm wondering if I can extend my monitor with a DVI female to HDMI male adapter to connect to my on board graphic card(which only has vga and hdmi)? Thank you

Unfortunately you can't with that setup unless your graphics  card allows you to use both ports. I've never seen such a graphics card. You would have to get a secondary graphics card to use this monitor as an extension. However I should let you know this was a great monitor, I used two monitors together and a third as a duplicate for my business. I've had no problem what so ever and the graphics are great. I highly recommend it.
