The frame is matte black and the screen is not reflective like glossy screens.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the displayport output to work? I'm trying to connect the monitor to a GTX 760 via displayport cable.

I have three of these monitors set up with display ports connected to a gtx 970... They all work wonders. I think you may just need to update your gpu's driver, or perform a clean install of it. Also once you get it working, you may need to adjust your color range settings on your gpu due to a washed out gamma issue with nvidia and display ports.

Bette, I do not have a good answer for that.  The basics I just played around with it to set it up.  But in regard to more sophisticated calibrating of colors etc. I have not had a need for that and have not explored that any further.  I apologize for not being able to supply you with more information.  I assume you had no luck with Asus?

The stand height is adjustable and is at its highest point in the picture shown. I am at my office and my monitor is at home so I can't answer as to the exact height.

Can you use it as a tv? The idea was connecting my u-verse wireless box via hdmi input

I believe the answer is yes, I use it watching TV all the time, problem is that it does not have a audio out, at least I wasn't able to find it, therefore you can't use headphones/ sound-bars from it unless you are using laptops or your wireless have an audio jack. The speaker built in is okay, but definitely not great if you are watching from across the bedroom....

Is a HDMI cord supposed to come with the monitor?

It does not come with an HDMI cable, but it does have a port for it if you have one.  It comes with a VGA and a DVI cable included in the box.

Is the DisplayPort input on this monitor DisplayPort 1.2? In other words, can I run audio through the DisplayPort input assuming I have the right source and cable?

The speakers are really bad, not even close to the quality of led TV's. Very good image with a wide variety of inputs. Poor manual controls.
