I like my monitor to sit low on my desk. Is this adjustable to sit all the way down on the desk, or close to it? I can't tell from the pictures whether that tall stand it is on collapses.

It sits extremely low, the stand is the most versatile ive ever seen. I got out my measuring tape and when its set all the way down the bottom of the display is 1 inch from the top of the base and 1.4 inch from the desk

Does this monitor work well with NVidia cards and drivers?

The prior answers are outdated and incorrect. The newest Nvidia drivers support FreeSync as well as G-Sync unless you have ancient graphics card.  See the ASUS website for the Nvidia card series that support Adaptive Sync (Nvidia's version of FreeSync).  You can activate Adaptive Sync through the Nvidia control panel, 3d section.

It mentions the panel has FreeSync but I don't see a Display Port listed. Can anyone confirm or deny?

No this display doesn't have any display ports. It has 2 HDMI and one VGA video inputs.

Question 4

When rotating the monitor will the screen automatically adjust as well?

No, if you change from landscape to portrait or vise versa you will have to go into display settings and change it to which one you are using. It takes 10 seconds to do. It doesn't automatically detect the position of the screen.

Does this come with HDMI cords with the monitor?

I purchased three of these over a year ago, they are working great and I believe the HDMI cable came with the monitor.

speakers are ok at best.  The monitor is spectacular.  But if you really using speakers for music or game play, you'd probably want to invest in a separate speaker system.  If for just mundane use, the speakers will do ok that are integrated with the monitor.

Question 7

How do you change the refresh rate on the monitor? My laptop has g-sync which is refreshing at 75hz but the monitor is only 60hz.. very displeased.. help please

If its a windows based system (Windows 10)  it should be right click on desktop, display settings , advanced display , display adapter properties and then monitor select in the drop down tab and apply.

Can you connect this to a pc?

Yes.  I have two of them on my PC in a dual monitor setup.  If your video card has HDMI you can connect them directly. You can also use a DVI-to-HDMI or a DP-to-HDMI.  This is how I have my two VG245H's connected to my GTX 1070.

Is it compatible with FreeSync? Because some reviews say otherwise.

Yes this model is compatible with the adaptive-Sync (FreeSync) technology which is supported between 40Hz~75Hz using the HDMI port.

How is the sound quality from the built-in speakers?

The worst ive ever heard. I would pretend they dont exist. They arent intended to be used, more like some kind of diagnostic tool for checking if your hdmi audio drivers work. I have 3 and they all sound so bad that you cant use them for sound
