does this monitor do 1440p at 75hz? if so does it require a display port or does it work with hdmi?

Hi Katherine, I'll do my best to answer your questions. I myself run Windows 10 at 1440 at 60HZ. My PC only allows 59-60HZ. However online info indicates up to 75HZ but only through the display port, HDMI locked at 60HZ. Much of this will depend on your PC specs.
