Question 1

Does the 10-bit color depth maintain to 138Hz or does it drop to 8-bit?  If drops, then what is the max refresh rate for 10-bit color depth?

I had to set the panel to 120hz to get VRR working properly.  In games, I noticed a black frame now and again when running at 138hz with VRR. So I set the panel to 120hz and haven't noticed any since.

What is the differences between this monitor and the LG C2 42 inch tv? Also does this monitor offer better burn in protection than the C2?

The PG42UQ is Designed to be a monitor, it has no Operating system on it for apps or tuner like the C2. 
The PG42UQ does have a couple of burn in protection features like Dimming, pixel cleaning, pixel shift and added heatsinks.
The PG42UQ menus are very much like those of any other gaming monitor with just the added features specific to OLED longevity.
It does come with a remote, which can sometimes bit a bit finicky to turn the screen back on.

I find the dimming feature to be irritating so I had turned it off, My general solution to burn in is to set my wallpaper to black and have my icons and taskbar hide, so that the screen turns black as well as turning on a black screensaver, since black turns off pixels.

Overall I would say the PG42UQ is a great monitor it is not perfect but If you are looking for a 42 inch screen for a PC this is the one to get, and in comparison to the C2 it is slightly more optimized for Computer Usage whereas the C2 was designed to be a TV.

The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ Gaming Monitor is G-SYNC Compatible but does not mention support for AMD FreeSync.

The list of refresh rates I have found do NOT list 120 hz at 4k via HDMI.  So this monitor CANNOT be used with an Xbox Series X to display 120 hz at 4k.  Is that correct?

I dont know about an Xbox but i know it works well on a pc with HDMI and Display Port.

What is the refresh rate when NOT overclocked?  I don't want to run the monitor overclocked for the next 5 yrs...no way it lasts.  Also, I need it at 120 hz to avoid scan lines when streaming with a camera set up.
