Question 1

ASUS XG27AQDMES or MSI MPG 271QRX—which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ASUS XG27AQDMES if 240Hz is enough and you want its QD-OLED panel and Neo Proximity Sensor, which can blank the screen when you step away. Choose the MSI MPG 271QRX if you prioritize its higher 360Hz refresh rate, KVM switch, or USB-C with up to 90W power delivery. Both are 1440p QD-OLED monitors, so the MSI’s extra refresh rate and connectivity are the main decision points.

Question 2

Is the ASUS XG27AQDMES worth choosing over the cheaper ROG Strix XG27ACS?

Accepted Answer

Choose the XG27AQDMES if you want OLED contrast, QD-OLED color, and a 240Hz refresh rate. The XG27ACS is a 1440p Fast IPS alternative with a 180Hz refresh rate, making it the more suitable choice if you prefer an IPS display and do not need OLED image characteristics. Compare current prices before deciding, since the feature difference is substantial but pricing varies.

Question 3

Should I upgrade from the ASUS XG27AQDMG to the XG27AQDMES?

Accepted Answer

Consider the XG27AQDMES if you specifically want to switch from the XG27AQDMG’s WOLED panel to QD-OLED or want the Neo Proximity Sensor and OLED Care Pro features. Both models offer 1440p resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, so the core resolution and refresh-rate specifications are not an upgrade. Keep the XG27AQDMG if you are satisfied with its WOLED panel and those added features do not matter to you.

Question 4

Is this monitor suitable for competitive gaming?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Its QHD resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible support suit fast-paced PC gaming. Reaching 240Hz depends on the connected system and settings.

Question 5

Is it a good choice for office work as well as gaming?

Accepted Answer

It can handle general office work and gaming, and its adjustable stand supports different viewing positions. Because it uses an OLED panel, people who spend long periods displaying static elements such as taskbars or spreadsheets should consider image-retention risk; ASUS OLED Care Pro includes a proximity sensor that switches the screen to black when the user is away to help reduce burn-in risk.

Question 6

Does this monitor have built-in speakers?

Accepted Answer

No. It has no built-in speakers, so use headphones or connect external speakers to your computer or another audio source.

Question 7

Can I mount it on a monitor arm or wall mount?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It supports a 100 x 100mm VESA mount. The included stand also supports height, swivel, pivot, and tilt adjustments.

Question 8

Does OLED Care Pro eliminate burn-in risk?

Accepted Answer

No. The proximity sensor and other OLED-care features are intended to reduce burn-in risk, not guarantee that it cannot occur. The supplied product information does not specify whether the warranty covers burn-in, so check the warranty terms for that detail.

Question 9

Is the XG27AQDMES a good fit for fast 1440p gaming?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for fast 1440p gaming, with a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response-time rating, and FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible support. Reddit owners and a reviewer describe responsive gameplay; it is a stronger fit for gaming than for users prioritizing bright HDR or extensive text work.

Question 10

Is the XG27AQDMES suitable for coding or office work?

Accepted Answer

It can be used for office tasks, but text fringing is a reported drawback of this 1440p QD-OLED. Reddit users report different levels of concern, from barely noticeable to bothersome enough to return the monitor. If sharp text is a priority, try one in person before buying.

Question 11

Is its HDR bright enough for a bright room?

Accepted Answer

It may be a less suitable choice if bright-room visibility or intense HDR highlights are priorities. The supplied specifications list 200 cd/m² brightness, and a Reddit reviewer measured roughly 430 nits for small HDR highlights and lower brightness across larger bright areas. Reddit discussions also describe HDR brightness as a trade-off; results and preferences can vary.

Question 12

Is OLED burn-in a concern if I use it for work every day?

Accepted Answer

OLED burn-in is a consideration for long sessions with persistent static content. This model includes OLED Care Pro and a proximity sensor that can blank the screen when you step away, but those features do not guarantee burn-in prevention. Its fit depends on your usage pattern and willingness to use the available screen-care features.
