It works :-), this monitor supports G-Sync. But maybe it's doing it via freesync?  I use mine with Nvidia cards and it performs well. So no worries on that front.

How does this "monitor" combat screen burn in any better than an old tv ?

Accepted Answer

It does but you have to ensure you enable it correctly during shutdown after every session. Do NOT power off the monitor. When you power off your PC, the monitor will go into screen protection mode. The monitor will only go into self-preservation mode that way. If you let it go to sleep or if you cold shut down the PC meaning remove it from all AC power it will not go into that protection mode. The mode can be confirmed in operation with a blinking white power bar that after several minutes stops (the longer the screen use session, the longer the process).

Glossy, though it technically has a coating, you would assume there's no coating unless you knew because it's full glossy appearance.
