Question 1

Is the ASROCK 24" FHD 144Hz IPS CL25FFB a noticeable upgrade in refresh rate and color accuracy compared to older 60Hz TN panel monitors?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock CL25FFB offers a significant upgrade in refresh rate and color accuracy compared to older 60Hz TN panels. Its 144Hz refresh rate makes motion look much smoother, especially in fast-paced games, while the IPS panel delivers wider viewing angles and more accurate colors with 99% sRGB coverage, which you won’t get from most TN displays.

That said, the monitor uses HDMI 1.4 and VGA inputs, so make sure your setup supports those connections for full refresh rate performance. Also, its 1ms MPRT response time helps with input lag, but if you're highly sensitive to ghosting or tearing, combining it with a good GPU that supports AMD FreeSync will give the best overall experience.

Question 2

What is the average power consumption and heat output of the ASROCK 24" FHD 144Hz IPS monitor during typical use?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock Phantom Gaming 25" monitor typically consumes around 20 to 25 watts during normal use, which keeps heat output relatively low, so it won't add much warmth to your workspace. This power draw is in line with other 24-25" IPS monitors at 144Hz, balancing performance with energy efficiency.

If you’re running it at maximum brightness or gaming intensely for long sessions, it might draw slightly more power, but it still won’t compare to larger or higher-resolution displays that use more backlight and processing power. If energy use is a concern, adjusting brightness and enabling any power-saving modes can help reduce consumption further.

Question 3

Have users reported any screen flickering or input lag issues on the ASROCK 24" FHD 144Hz IPS CL25FFB after recent firmware updates?

Accepted Answer

There haven’t been widespread reports of screen flickering or input lag issues on the ASRock CL25FFB monitor after recent firmware updates. Its 144Hz refresh rate combined with 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync support ensures smooth performance for both work and gaming under typical use cases.

If you experience flickering, it’s usually related to cable quality or GPU driver compatibility rather than the firmware itself. Using the HDMI 1.4 port and ensuring your graphics drivers are up to date will help maintain a stable display experience without noticeable input lag.

Question 4

Does the ASROCK 24" FHD 144Hz IPS CL25FFB monitor require a firmware update before initial setup to support its full 144Hz refresh rate?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock Phantom Gaming CL25FFB monitor does not require a firmware update out of the box to support its full 144Hz refresh rate. You can enable 144Hz by selecting it through your computer’s display settings once connected via HDMI or VGA, making sure your graphics card supports that output and refresh rate.

Just keep in mind that to actually take advantage of 144Hz, your GPU and connection type matter—HDMI 1.4 supports 144Hz at 1080p, but performance depends on your hardware. Also, using AMD FreeSync can help reduce tearing if your GPU supports it, improving smoothness during gaming.

Question 5

How does the gaming performance at 1080p of the ASROCK 24" FHD 144Hz IPS CL25FFB compare to the ASUS VG248QG 24" FHD 165Hz IPS monitor?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock Phantom Gaming 24.5" FHD 144Hz IPS monitor offers smooth gameplay at 1080p with a solid 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, making it competitive but just a step behind the ASUS VG248QG’s 165Hz refresh. The difference in refresh rate means the ASUS can deliver slightly smoother motion if your GPU can push frame rates above 144fps consistently.

That said, the ASRock monitor includes AMD FreeSync, which helps reduce screen tearing during variable frame rates, so if you’re using an AMD GPU, it’s a practical choice. Meanwhile, the ASUS provides a bit more speed for fast-paced games but usually at a higher price, so picking between them depends on whether you prioritize refresh rate over price and features like FreeSync.

Question 6

What are the dimensions and weight of the monitor?

Accepted Answer

The dimensions of the ASRock 24.5" Gaming Monitor with stand are 16.33'' x 21.93'' x 7.52'' and it weighs 6.83 lbs. Without the stand, the dimensions are 12.68'' x 21.93'' x 1.97'' and the weight is 6.06 lbs.

Question 7

What is the refresh rate and response time of the ASRock 24.5" Gaming Monitor?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock 24.5" Gaming Monitor has a refresh rate of 144Hz and a response time of 1ms (MPRT).
