Is this compatible with the Logitech Unifying Receiver?

yes , any more I only buy keyboards or mice compatible with the unifying software, now in order to use it you most download the driver from Logitech

Is this considered a full sized mouse like their MX500; Say 4.5" x 2.5"?

For my hand, it is a full-sized mouse. Significantly bigger than the M310. While I never measured my mouse before, it is indeed 4.5" x 2.0"

what is the battery life ?

Advertised to last 2 years. I have had mine since Christmas so i haven't made it to that mark yet, but it's still working great :D

does it work with Windows 8.1?

I have been using mine on windows 8.1 for over a year and have no problems what so ever. Go for it.
