does it have a braided cable?

It does have a fine braided cloth insulation but the cable itself is standard.  However, the cloth makes the cable itself nice and pliable after a week or so. It is light and easy to move around, unlike the standard plastic insulation.

The set itself is not heavy either. Most can sets I have tried in the past feel like balancing a few encyclopedias on your head. This set is snug without being constricting and still manage to stay in place, even through the most intense gaming marathons.

Fully adjustable and retractable mic is clear and sounds clean. I have received many compliments about the improvement of sound via TeamSpeak.

do these require a sound card capable of 7.1 surround in order to get true surround sound in the headphones? Do these provide "true" surround from a 7.1 signal or only simulated surround from a 2.0 stereo signal?

any set of headphones (90%) that have 7.1 surround but only have 2 drivers (speakers) use virtual surround sound.  most people find it works just as good as having separate drivers for each channel.  they also dont require any kind of functional sound card in your pc, 7.1 or not, since it's a usb headset, all the sound processing is done digitally through the usb audio codec.

does this include original box stickers etc?

My re-furb only came with the headset. However, when I bought the open box it included everything. So I am not sure if it is a case by case situation or not.

is it chroma?

not sure the question. does it light up on the sides? yes. does it work with chrom? yes. I play a lot of WoW and other games the sound comes through wonderfully and my mic is great

Is the sound quality on this mic any better than the pro version of the Kraken mic? and what's the difference between the USB and the Kraken Pro with the classic headphone and mic cable

My headset was never received. After opening a claim with Newegg, the issue was not solved, so I do not know how these headphones sound and perform, I never received them.

Do they feel bulky or tight ?

The Razer Kraken 7.1 gaming headset is actually pretty light-weight. If I remember correctly, they weigh about 1lb. They do not feel much more bulky than any other headsets I've used before, although they do feel a little bit tighter than what I am used to. To be fair, my head is a bit larger than average, so it may be perfectly fine for someone with a smaller head.

I don't know if I can promise quality for newegg, but the refurbished headset I got was great, no knicks or scratches, and sounds awesome. I have had for a couple months with zero issues. 
However you don't get the fancy Razer box, you get everything that comes with it just different packaging.

Overall amazing deal, for a great product.

Question 8

Is this fully functional, with no defects or problem at all (including cosmetically)?

I've had it for over a year now and haven't seen any problems, technically or cosmetically.  The only issue I have with the headset is the stock charge cable that comes with it is 3ft long which can be annoying if your tower is anywhere else but right next to your head.  Buy a usb cable extender and you're set.
