Question 1

So should I use this or just use 2 16000M joysticks for Elite Dangerous and star citizen?

I have tried both and personally I prefer the HOTAS setup. A self-centering throttle in the case of a second joystick gets annoying very quickly and you have no natural way to control all 3 axes and are left using the twist to move up and down. Not only that, but with 12 of the buttons being on the base, you have to take your hand off one of the joysticks to use most of these functions. With the Throttle in this HOTAS setup however, there is a minature joystick on the back which is used to very naturally control lateral and vertical thrust, as well as the throttle itself controlling your forward/backward motion. Also, in the case of the buttons, you can reach all 5 independent buttons, 3 hat switches (which can function as 4 buttons each), miniature 2 axis joystick (with push button), paddle axis, and dial axis without needing to move any more than a thumb. Admittedly, the miniature joystick does need the deadzone set to 15-20% out of the box. But I still find the well developed throttle and joystick shown to be far more comfortable and natural than any dual stick setup I've ever used.

Question 2

Is there a tutorial on the programming somewhere? I've been searching for premade profiles to start with to try and figure out what I'm doing.

Programming? There isn't any. Whatever game you are playing will have a controller section in the settings/config. In there is where you map all your buttons.

I'm not sure you know it yet, but it sounds like your question isn't actually about this HOSTAS, but instead a specific question regarding whatever game you are playing.

-Word to the wise, get on Reddit, find a sub about your game & ask there. You should get a bunch of good (and, more importantly) accurate info.

Question 3

I own a T-Flight HOTAS X, and my main contention with that model is its lack of counterweight. As a result, I find most of my movements cause the joystick or throttle to tip. Does this model have the same issue? If so, are there points on the bases where I may anchor them in place?

The T.16000M Joystick is well weighted on its own but it does have two threaded holes on the underside for securing it to a surface with bolts. The holes are metal as well, not plastic. The throttle does not have quite as much weight but it too has two threaded holes for bolts/screws.

Question 4

Will this work with: 1) Battlefield 4 and 2) War Thunder ?

I'm not sure about BF1but I'm sure you can. As far as BF4 you can but you have to use the programing software to map the two together due to the fact that the game it's self doesn't except more then one USB controller device other then mouse and keyboard. This is only one of the reasons I returned my T.16000m FCS controller. My joystick YAW snapped inside causing it to twist more then its should and caused the calibration to go out. Question 5

First it was pushed back to 10/2, now the release date says 11/2.  What's the hold up?  Will it release on 11/2, or can we expect it to get pushed back yet another month?

I was wondering the same thing.  I ended up contacting Thrustmaster and asked about why there was a delay, and they responded with the following:

"It is true indeed that we had to push back the release date of the T16000M FCS HOTAS a little bit. Unfortunately we do not have any information regarding the reason for which the release date was pushed back. We only hope that you as well as the entire user community will bear with us for this one until the product will be released in your country."

So, in short... Who knows!?  Kinda frustrating as I was looking forward to trying it out.

Question 6

Does this stick have Z access?

The stick has an analog twist axis, the throttle has toggle that can be used as rudder and Thrustmaster has a set of rudder pedals that plugged in to the throttle for the Z-axis or used as a stand alone. I have the rudder pedals and like them very much.

Question 7

Will the throttle be sold separately and are there any analogue controls on it akin to the ministick on the CH Pro Throttle?

i saw the throttle solo for around $70 somewhere. just google it, it should pop up. so, yes it will be sold separate as well.

As for the analog, man i hope so. i have no idea, and none of the literature released to date (i have ALL of it) says one way or another. i will know 10/5/16 when this thing is slated to hit my door step.
