When the mic is placed in the "put away" position, does it click into place? Will it stay up when put there?

It does not necessarily click into place at that specific position but it has almost like a ratcheted lock feel to the swivel of it. So basically barring some serious headbanging it's going to stay in place however you have it set. There's a clear hard stop at all the way down and all up position.

Question 2

Are these plug and playable? (Can i charge them and still wear them and have audio and the mic work)

You'll need to download and install the software for them, but still pretty much plug and play besides that.  You'll also need to tell your system to use these as your default output.  I believe you can still wear/use while charging.  Seems like I had turned on the headset while it was still plugged in, but my charging cord is short, so I couldn't /didn't wear them while it was charging.  Very comfortable, no ear fatigue (unless you have VERY large ears).  Decent wearable distance away from the USB transmitter, but you wouldn't say be able to mow the yard and wear them.

How does this headset compare to the vengeance 2100?

I am not familiar with the Vengeance. I have always had Turtle Beach, Logitech, or Steel Series. This pair blows them all away if you are a gamer. I hear things nobody else hears and can tell where its coming from. The quality of build is far more superior than anything else I have owned. The battery life is incredible and they charge up quickly.

Question 4

Is this headset TRUE 7.1 surround? I've been using Razer Megaladons for years now and I don't want to lose out on audio quality.

Dude, every Gaming headset is only Virtual Surround Sound. I can tell you these are pretty good, I've owned these and G930s, and both work really well with their surround virtualization. Good luck finding "TRUE" 7.1 surround within at least the next 5 years. You want TRUE Surround, get a speaker system. Please don't ask questions that may seem irrelevant, it shows ignorance, please do some research before asking such terrible questions. I hope I did not hurt your feelings, but this has happened so often to me, and people asking questions as such that don't make sense online, misleading more and more people

Question 5

I'm looking for an all-around compatible headset for PC and consoles (PS3/4, 360, XB1). Has anyone attempted to use this headset with their consoles too?

I have never tried it on consoles, however I strongly suggest against it. I recall trying a different headset (G930 Logitech) in my ps3, and it had not worked. I have a 90% doubts against this working.

Question 6

I have two questions.
1. With this headset, is the virtual surround perpetually on, or can it be toggled?
2. Is there an onboard mic mute button?
I'm considering this headset as I'm getting fed up with the Logitech Gaming Software. I love my G930 headset.. when it works properly.

You can turn off the surround sound, but then it goes to only a typical head set with mic. Yes there is an on board mic mute, but then you need to go into the program or use windows to do it. I have one and I hope it didn't die on me just now, but just incase I'm looking for another.
