CONFLICTING PICTURES: Two pictures show the playseat logo on the front and back of the headrest and two pictures show that there is no logo present at all. Please verify - is the logo is there or not?

My seat says "PLAYSEAT" in bold white lettering at the top of the chair on both the front and back.

Do you need an added accessory to mount a gear ship such as with the Logitech G27?

To answer your question I had to make something because what they have for the mount is in an odd spot parelle to the wheel. I will let you know I would hold off on buying this. If you're planning on upgrading in the future this is a good starter racing seat. I will tell you that it will start to fall apart in under a year. I'm by no means a big guy but the tubes will eventually bend in the rear right because they are very thin. The pedals will no longer stay put and you'll have to re Velcro some of the straps every so often.

Could this be used or adapted as a flight chair? such as mounting Hotas on the sides?

I mounted an H-pattern shifter to the clasp side of the swingout bar using some motorcycle handlebar clamps and a small sheet of 1/4" ABS plastic. Did a cardboard mockup, then used a heat gun to form the bends.

Does anyone know if this Playseat's mounting plate bolts up to the Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia (Force feedback) Wheel for XBOX One?

That is the combination I am using and it bolts up just great with no modifications required.
