The toner *is* the ink!

It comes with a "starter" toner cartridge, which is good for about 1000 pages. Don't bother getting another until the one that comes with the printer runs out -- toner cartridges have a limited shelf life.

What may be confusing you is that it also has a replaceable fuser cartridge, which however lasts a very long time. When that goes it will probably be cheaper to get the newer model!

Am I safe to assume this doesn't do Wifi printing?

It doesn't have WiFi built in, but I have it attached to a server computer on my wireless network. This allows me to print from it from any other computer, just as long as it has a computer to hard wire into.

Is this capable of printing over wifi to ios?

Not this model.  It needs to hooked up via USB. But, it's the most reliable monochrome printer I ever bought. I use it every day and it has lasted far longer than my desk jets. It's strictly black and white.
