Combat puts your survival at risk, and ammo is hard to find in a world where resources are scarce. Depend on your abilities to bluff and intimidate your enemies to ensure your survival. Deceive your enemies by pointing an empty gun at them to save bullets - but be ready to respond quickly, as some enemies call your bluff. The survivors you encounter throughout Haverton adapt to your actions, displaying different behaviors in different circumstances and creating unpredictable interactions. Scrounge for ammo as well as weapons such as the machete and bow that allow you to dispatch hostile strangers with stealth and speed.

Manage Scarce Resources

In the shattered world of I Am Alive, nearly everything you find can be used to maintain your strength and health or, if you are feeling charitable, to help others. Scavenge for batteries, ammo, weapons, tools, water and food amid a ruined wasteland picked over by other survivors, and manage your meager resources carefully. Material resources are not your only concern, however. Your survival depends on your ability to maintain your own stamina, meaning that every effort you make - from jumping to climbing to engaging in combat - comes at a price. Skillful management of your stamina is rewarded, however, so never let yourself run out of gas.
