Yes it will allow you to extract, insert, and delete pages.

Create fillable forms as well.

There are a number of other tools for editing the documents, but I don't want to get long winded.

I run it on windows not the MAC but I assume it is the same feature set.  On windows, yes I use it to combine files is 99% of how I use it.  It also will let you delete specific pages out of files.

How about the ability to preview adobe pdfs ?  Does this return with this version,  I had lost that when I went to win 7 with Adobe 8.0 and it has been a pain every since , this would make this worth buying to me just for that if it works...

Reader yes.   Flash no.  Easy to use....  not as easy as previous versions but not hard.
