Question 1

I don't know a lot about cards like this, would the bluetooth on the card let you do things like attach a bluetooth headset to the machine if it can not already do that?

Yes. I didn't have Bluetooth on my machine before, but now I can connect Bluetooth devices. This also is a Wi-Fi card, so it has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Be aware! This card is for a desktop PC, that will fit into a PCIexpress slot. The picture shown is a mini-PCIe card. The actual product is a larger full sized PCIe card.

Question 2

Is the white square antennae magnetic? My last desktop had this feature, so I could stick the antennae to the side of the case and not have to worry about it flopping around and getting in the way.

The white square antennae is not magnetic and is not attracted to magnets. An adhesive strip and pin are provided to assist with mounting. I leave the antenna on my desk with the cabling going behind/under my desk. The white square is 3 inches x 3 inches x 10/16 inch.

is this for desktop units or notebooks?  and would it fit an asus n550jv notebook?

Not sure on your motherboard however this is for the desktop.  The one for the notebook is the exact same but doesn't say notebook or desktop.  I had ordered the one for the notebook and found out later when I googled it.

Question 4

I was wondering if this really is meant for laptops and will it work for a 2-year-old Asus Gaming laptop.  I also have the Asus AC router.  From all the reviews, I have read it states that its for Desktops but it looks like it's for laptops.?

The product picture is wrong! This item is for Desktops, not laptops. It fits in a PCI-e slot on a motherboard.

Considering that literally in the specifications table it says has bluetooth. I am going to say yes.

Side note: why are you bothering with tech? you obviously can't read, or are too lazy to check the specs. You should take up another hobby, like pogs or jacks. simple things that don't take much effort. If the table say it has bluetooth, wouldn't you agree tat it in fact does have said bluetooth? You shouldn't buy this. you'll only end up calling a friend over to help you. that friend is tired of you asking for help. sorry not sorry.

How long is the antenna cable?

Antenna cable(s) are ? 47” long measured from the PC back-plate to where they meet the 3x3 inch molded plastic antenna head. Cables and leads are marked “ANT1” & “ANT2”, so would assume it makes a difference. Read on the Intel site to load the BT drivers first.

Will this card work with any motherboard?

Does that mother board have a PCIe slot? The Bluetooth must be attached to a USB header onn the mother board in order to work. Download CPUid CPU-Z find out what MoBo you have then Google search your MoBO and find out if you have the USB header and the PCIe slot.

i have a small form factor HP Compaq 6005. will this fit for my computer? I currently have 1 pci slot, 1 pci X16 express slot and 2 pci x1 slots available for expansion.

The board will fit,but you have to change the bracket for the compact computers.You need to check and see that it comes with a small bracket.

Question 9

I purchased a Cyberpower PC with Intel MB and i7 processor a couple of years ago.  About a year ago, I purchased this adapter hoping to have both the wifi and bluetooth.  The wifi was super simple to set up, but I have not been able to get the bluetooth to work.  I don't know if I don't have sufficient wiring in my PC or what.

The Intel instructions on this device are lame at best.  I disabled two of my front USB ports to plug this device into, but no bluetooth.

Anyone else have any success?

I tried everything.  I even found the positive and negative pins on the MB to make sure I was plugging the bluetooth cable in correctly.  Nothing worked.  Turns out, it's been a problem with Intel's adapter, and I have not been able to find a fix.  I finally gave up, and am just using the adapter for wi-fi, and purchased a bluetooth USB dongle.  Works like a charm.

Question 10

I bought the 7260 and it popped right into my Toshiba Laptop.  When I tried to fire up the laptop, it complained about having an incompatible WIFI card and wouldn't even let me get into the BIOS.  Is there any hope?

Sorry I can't be much help.  I don't know your OS etc.  My advice is remove the card,  go google Intel 7260 driver and follow the links to download the driver manager from Intel and then download the driver.  Once installed, try reinserting the card to see if it will load.  Kind of lame advice but all that I have.  Sadly, I can't seem to get the Bluetooth working on 7260 using Windows 8.1 so I'm not happy with it.
