If I put this router on my desktop computer will it woork on my laptop my kids xbox360 and a playstation3 if I put a code in?

When you attach this to an internet provider ( modem or another device ) you may use it to provide  internet and internal networking to 32 devices on the default ip scheme . A wep or wpa encryption may be added to provide secure connection for users and to keep unwelcome guests from freeloading.

Is it I-pad and pc compatible at the same time?

The wireless router is just a gateway, once it is set up with a PC or Mac, it simply broadcasts a wireless signal...any wi-fi capable device will be able to recognize the signal and if the security parameters are met, it will connect to the router.

I don't know how tech-savvy you are, but the great thing about this router is that it is extremely easy to set up and use...it is truly a set it and forget it type of thing.  I have this router at home, and I have purchased it for my parents & grandparents, and they all run like a champ.

is it compatable with Mac Book  Pro?

Although I don't have a Mac Book, I have used this router with numerous other wired and wireless devices.  If your Mac Book speaks standard 802.11 B or G wireless, or has a standard wired Ethernet connection (typically with a standard RJ-45 8-pin connector), it should work just fine.

Yes, it works for 802.11 B/G WiFi.  Think of it as a two port router (route from this network to that one) that has one side of the router connected to a 5-port network switch that in turn has an 802.11 B/G access point connected to one of the switch ports.  This leaves available for you to plug into: 1 port for routing to the 'other' network, 4 ports for connecting devices to the network that has the access point, and of course, the 802-11B/G AP.  I use one just as a network switch (with AP) connecting several wired and wireless devices.  I use another to connect several wired and wireless devices (on a different network) and then route to the other network.

What version is this model router?

Usually the various versions have the same upc. As a result, the sellers generally do not know. I assume you're asking this wrt DD-WRT. If you aren't willing to take the risk of ending up with the wrong version, you should probably just get a Buffalo router which comes preloaded with ddwrt.

Question 6

My ISP says I must have a DOCSIS 3.0 or better router.  Will this router suffice for that?

DOCSIS 3.0 is a standard for cable modems. Some of them are wireless routers too. If you have internet access now any wireless router will work by plugging the cat 5 cable from you cable modem into the wan port of the wireless router. I use low end Netgear routers and they work well.
