the price is on the higher end. but overall i am happy with the product.   no issues whatsoever to date after installing this

It is a combo modem/router that is DSL. I used it with Frontier service. I can't say for sure if it would be compatible with your provider.

Has anyone successfully used this with CenturyLink?

Yes, I have CenturyLink in Branson MO.  I use this router in Kansas City and Branson with no setup problems.  Both routers are used to facilitate remote security video and thermostat operations at both locations. You will have the options to connect wireless in either 5G or N - both will show up as wireless options on your wireless devices.  Port forwarding is very easy - more so that other netgear routers I have used. I was really concerned about the reviews I read. After reading the reviews, I was beginning to think NO routers were dependable.  After my netgear 3200 disconnected a few times (really a problem for remote use), I finally purchased two of these.  I have not had a disconnect on either one so far (several months).  CenturyLink worked well for me.  Best Wishes. Larry

How does this differ from the N600 Doc sis 3.0?

The difference is the connection type. The N600 Docsis 3.0 can be used as a modem/Router that can be used with cable connections, allowing you to  return the cable companies Docsis modem/Router you may be leasing from the cable company. The D6200 can not.

Does the Netgear D6200 modem/router function optimally with the Mac operating systems?

I don't have a Mac or iPhone now but my son had his iPhone & iPad here last month and they worked well on my WiFi. The setup interface is web based so that should be fine. It comes up on my tablet so it's not Flash. It should all be good. I'm using the interna DSL modem to AT&T and it seems a bit faster than their standalone modem.

yes.... Works well with my Century Link service. Check your DSL provider's specifications to make sure it will be compatible.

I read conflicting comments, according to the description it has a adsl modem built in? Will this work with at&t?

Haha funny , yes it does have an ADSL modem in it and I also work for at&t so it depends if you have an ADSL account and not a VDSL , also with the newer accounts the modems are router ready and built so its more of a Hassel but if you have a classic account where its just a standard modem it should work , good luck :)

This has a DSL modem built into it. You can not connect your cable directly to it. You can hook the cable modem to this router.

It can not be used as a cable modem. You can connect a 3G wireless modem to it via USB or connect it to a cable modem to the WAN port on the back.
