is this router compatible with windows xp?

Yes it is compatible to all windows. setup is easy with cd or manually through your browser.

There is one quirk that is irritating. It intermittently freezes when l on for long periods of time (a month or longer). The Cisco logo flashes when this happens. Easy to fix just unplug for an hour or so and you will be back on the net.

Is this a combo of modem and router? and is it xfinity approved?

I'm very satisfied with my Linksys wi-fi router as its very reliable, its fast  and puts out a much better signal than its predecessors.  Unfortunately its just a wi-fi router, it does not include a DSL or cable modem.  Since it does not include a cable modem I can't venture a guess as to whether it would be Xfinity compliant (I presume thats some kind of broadband provider that we don't have in my area).

Will this router work on the Time Warner system instead of the of the Arris they rent?

I can't answer for certain ad I don't have Time Warner service,  however it is a router, it should work on any ISP service. You are basically creating a wireless network beyond TW'S service so it should not affect your home network. I would suggest you ask TW'S support desk if you want a firm answer.

Was just wondering if this router will support multiple gaming consoles without any major issues? i have about 7 consoles constantly hooked up to the internet, 2 PlayStation 4's, 2 Xbox One's, Wii U and 1 Xbox 360, also 2 phones and 2 laptops and im tired of the issues the comcast modem router 2-in-1 is giving me with the consoles. if you do not think this will work for me can you recommend one that will?

Should not have a problem with that... But I have had a lot of general issues with this router... When running it is fast and with two antennas you can have some going to one and others going to the other one

It was new. I wouldn't recommend this router-it doesn't give a wifi signal throughout my home. I've tried placing it in different parts of the house,only to lose the signal in the places where it was working fine. Can't wait to try a different one. I hope this was helpful

Replacing near ten year old G only Linksys router. Question is simply will this unit let Roku 3 operate as designed to upgrade LED TV to Hi-Def TV using cable internet modem? Actually would hopefully be able to run 2 TV's plus wireless converted PC, two laptops, and wireless printer that the older G only router does. Just wish to be sure this router can make use of huge bandwidth from cable companies modem to operate one or two TV sets that have HDMI capability already built into TV set(s). Area is small but as is set up, Roku 3 will need to travel though two interior walls on small floor to reach TV.  Thanks much for your time and explanations, look forward to any and all replies.

With my setup, I have DirecTV with Geni and 3 additional receivers in bedrooms that all connect back to my router. I also have 3 iphones, iPad, Apple TV, Desktop, 3 laptops, smart TV, PS3 WiiU, and a few droid tablets. Occasionally I have had to reboot my linksys and change channels on my 2.4 and 5 networks. Most of the apple devices are on the 5 gig net but even with everything going, I have no issues streaming to Apple TV, pulling On Demand content on directv and using phones at the same time. My Apple TV is setup on the other side of my house compared to my linksys and I have a steel bathroom/tornado shelter in the middle. Still performs great and I am happy with this linksys.

Sorry did not use a wired printer so I don't know.  FYI this has been the.most problematic router I have ever had and I  an engineer

There is no "N" button on the router.  There is a reset and default button only.

Wireless routers are not made for far distances.  The signal range is much less than 1 kilometer.
