Can this be placed outdoors safely in an outdoor electrical outlet?

I would recommend this unit not be placed outdoors. It is not designed in my opinion to be waterproof  or dust proof. Also  prolonged exposure to hot and cold temps will cause it to fail . However I recommend dlink products. Check there website for outdoor intended products.

will this work with the DIR 615?

It is compatible with any brand and all DLink wireless routers. It is used in tandem with a wireless gateway and rebroadcast the original signal as a seperate signal. It doesn't  extend the original signal but makes you create a secondary wireless access point that you would then use to extend your wireless range. It walks you through the process and is vey user friendly. It is a great alternative to an expensive range booster set up with only a minor inconvience of choosing which point to access when they are both in range.

I have a D-Link Dir 655B1 router, what can I reasonably expect as extended range?

It's hard to say, it depends on how many obstructions are in the way (walls, ceilings, bookcases, etc.).  I got an extra 30 feet out of the one I installed at a customer's house.  The wireless router was in the back bathroom where the cable came up from the basement, they got no reception in the living room, I placed this half-way between the two rooms and we got great signal in the living room.  Problem solved.

WILL THIS WORK WITH MY AT&T MOBILE HOTSPOT?

AT&T uses both 850 and 1900MHz frequencies, so if the nearby tower is transmitting on 850MHz the booster should work as it claims to be working with all cell phones, not just CDMA.

This may be Greek to you, but it is part of the reason you should ask AT&T about their device.

Mobile Hot-Spots are usually designed to replicate the signal from the tower.  this range extender is a device that rebroadcasts at 2.4GHz, and is designed to pick up the signal of most wireless routers.

will it work with U-verse Motorola Gateway NVG510?

I don't personally have a Motorola NVG510, but it should work. It just receives and repeats wi-fi signal. It works easiest by pushing the WPS (autosync) button on the modem/gateway then the range extender, and they sync up. I read that the Motorola NVG510 has the WPS turned off by default. If you know how to access the web broswer interface of the modem/gateway you can easily ensure its on. The DAP-1320 range extender settings can also be accessed by a web browser interface, if WPS syncing isn't working. Should allow you to connect to the NVG510 manually by entering in the WPA2 info.  I used one on a normal Linksys router with the WPS buttons and it worked a charm. The range is surprisingly good. Hope this helps.

What's the aprox. extended range from extender to computer in feet?

My extender is on floor below my main wireless router.  My laptop and tablet pick up a very strong to strong signal every where on that floor. Floor dimensions are 32ft by 64 ft .  Older home with more walled off areas than modern Open configuration.  Main router is 2 ft from ceiling; extended router is 1 ft above the floor.

After a few reboots and reinstalls during first weeks of usage, extender.router "stabilized" and network only gets rebooted upon currently rare occasions that ISP's cable modem screws up internet services.

The extender is now something I no longer think about.  It's just there and barely visible, physically.

does this work well with Linksys AC1750 ?

It should work with any router.  I had it hooked up with a Linksys (not the same model) and it worked fine.

Question 8

I live in a duplex and my neighbor and I share the wifi 50/50.  Will this boost the signal in the apartment that does not have the router?

This unit will need to be placed in the unit without wifi and located towards the middle of the unit to  increase the signal throughout, you will have to access this unit for better reception of wifi

i have been using adapter ext.  but fter purchasing a new router i hav not been ale to get it to work again?

Unless you named the SSID name & password for your router the same as your old one, you will need to go through the setup & set the device to connect to the SSID name for the new router with it's password.
