Good coverage, poor firmware

Pros: The added antennas and triband allows the 5ghz signal to reach places that were previously very weak on my Asus AC-68U.
USB supporting NTFS storage devices is handy.

Cons: The configuration is kiddie toy simple. Hardly anything can be set up to an "advanced" level. No fix for KRACK vulnerability yet.
Smartconnect is *really* flaky, and an older notebook with Wifi N had to have adapter settings changed to even connect.

Other Thoughts: Far too expensive for what you get. I shouldn't have to use dd-wrt to get anything beyond basic setup.

Should have picked a different router

Pros: Easy to install
Keeps consistent WiFi
Good range

Cons: Has difficultly with switching between 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz

Other Thoughts: I disconnect often when there are a lot of devices connected to this router, but it's probably just me

D-Link DIR-890L/R Wireless AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band Gigabit Router

Pros: Nice Router when it is working properly.

Cons: Purchased this product in february 2016, recently it became defective 4 months out of warranty. contacted Dlink was informed that it only came with a 1 year warranty and they didn't offer repair service even at my expense, basicly they said just throw it away it was trash. In the future I will only purchase a router that has a better warranty and better service. I am very disappointed since I paid so much for it.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend this this product or other Dlink products because of their poor warranty and poor service after the product becomes defective.

Great to begin with but lousy now

Pros: This router was great when I first got it. I have had this router for 1 year and 5 months. The setup and manage features are good but I can't say much of anything else good about this product.

Cons: In the last month I keep dropping the WIFI in the back of the house. My TV which is only 25 feet away will not stay locked on to the WIFI. My iPhone would not even play a video without buffering when I was right next to the router. For only lasting just over 1 year I would rate this device as a expensive piece of JUNK.

Other Thoughts: Given the performance of this product after just a year of use I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO ANYONE!!!

D-Link DIR-890L/R Wireless AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band Gigabit Router, AC Smartbeam technology

Pros: Nice Design- great when it worked.

Cons: Three months out of warranty and all WiFi internet connection stopped. WiFi devices would connect to the network but could not obtain internet access. All wired devices had no problem.

Other Thoughts: Have owned D-Link products for years, but will be changing brands after spending $300 for a unit that failed three months out of warranty. A 12 month warranty is not sufficient for a product priced at this level.

Worst router I have owned

Pros: It looks neat, but that's about it.

Cons: The firmware is terribly basic and not intuitive. Pain in the rear to configure past the most basic settings. I much prefer the ww-drt firmware.
If a device doesn't stay connected to it at all times, it basically shuts down and you have to hard reset it before a device can reconnect to it. Super annoying to have to power cycle it every day when I came home. I left a tablet connected with pandora running and that helps, but seriously, shouldn't have to do that.
Range is spotty. Some days it is great and I can get connection all the way out in my shop or barn, other days, I can't get a signal in the next room over from the router. Seriously inconsistent.
Connection is also spotty at best. Nothing like connected/not connected/connected/not connected all evening sitting in the same room as the router on one device... yet other devices stay connected great... (and not always the same device... it's pretty random)

Other Thoughts: Probably going back to my cheap $35 buffalo router that is ancient and damaged from getting knocked off the shelf too many times. Rarely ever had issues with it. Thought I would upgrade to this router for some faster speeds and have been severely disappointed.

Dead after a year

Pros: -When it worked, it was great

Cons: -Unit would randomly disconnect out of no where on both Wifi and ethernet. We are an ITT company and quickly replaced it with a nighthawk but attempted to troubleshoot it over a weeks period of time with no luck. Updated the firmware and spoke with D-link support with no luck. These things need to have a longer warrany for the $300 we pay...

Great Product but Dead after 14 months due to firmware update.

Pros: When it works, it can handle all your devices without a problem.
D-Link's Excellent customer service.
Easy to set up

Cons: Their Firmware is too dangerous, it killed mine and now I am left with out a router.
1 year Warranty a bit short for a 300 Dollar product.

Other Thoughts: Due to D-Links Excellent customer service, I would recommend any of their products!
