Has this been good so far? Any problems?

It depends on what you use the internet for.

For basic things, such as social media or web browsing, this card works great! I've had mostly good experiences with it when streaming video on YouTube and Netflix. If you are doing heavy online gaming, you may want to look for a better card. For the most part, I haven't had issues while gaming online, but on certain networks, there have been times where others connected to the same router via wireless had significantly better experiences then I did using this card.

The card itself is pretty well manufactured. It functions well and it ranges from decent to good reception even with my router being located on the other end of our ranch-style house. For the price, I feel I got more than my money's worth. Hope this helps!

does this support windows 7?

Yes it does. Just install the drivers from the disk it comes with and it will work perfectly with Windows 7. I use this card with Windows 7 and I love it, no issues what so ever. One tip: Put in the disk and install the drivers before you put the wireless card into your machine, that way it uses the Rosewill drivers when you hook it up instead of standard windows 7 wireless drivers.

Yes this is a standard PCI card.  It installs easly and has good connectivity.  I put it in an old Sony Vaio Desktop in the same room as the NetGear CG3000D-1CXNAS cable modem + router (802.11 b/g/n).  I'm getting 130Mb/sec transfer rates.  I would recommend this card, it's great for the price.

Question 4

Are there any motherboards in which this particular wireless card will not fit? I have a Gigabyte of some make and I'm wondering if there would be any difficulty with installation?

As long as your systemboard has standard PCI (not PCI-e) slots and your case slots is full height, then it should fit assuming other boards are not covering the slot (like a video card, etc).

Does it work with windows 8?

It works quite well in both 32 and 64 bits. I cant remember if some drivers are built in or not, but I downloaded current ones from Mediatek. Look for the PCI RT2860/2760/2890 ones for Windows, ver. 5.0.5.0 dated 11/29/2012. I cant link to outside websites here.

Will this fit in my old 2005 Dell 8400 with windows XP?

The answer would appear to by Yes.  According to the Dell Dimension 8400 User Guide your computer should have 3 PCI Slots.  As long as one slot is still available, you should be able to install this card.  I put the card in an old (2002/03) Sony Vaio Desktop with Win XP Home and it's working great.  I can't address distance, my computer is in the same room as the router, by I am getting 130Mbs connectivity. Hope this helps.

Anyone know if i can find the drivers for this online?
i cant seem to find them and i lost the original disc

I can't find the drivers on Rosewill's Product Support page either.  They seem to not be publicly available, which is fine for the Windows operating system because Win 7, 8, and 10 will automatically find, download, and install the drivers.  All you need to do is physically install the adapter. The Windows operating system will do the rest for you.

Is this compatable with Windows8?

It is but make sure to format it first - i remember having issues in windows 8. Drive was showing in Devicew manager but with 0 capacity - format fixed the issue

ummm so i bought this and it turned out i needed the PCI-E one will new egg take it back and give me my money as credit so i can get the one i need? i already opend it btw

It would appear to be Yes, you can return this item. On the newegg page for this device, at the bottom of the specification tab, the Return Policy states: This item is covered by Newegg’s “Networking Extended Return Policy.” Return for refund within 60 days or Return for replacement within 90 days. Question 10

Is the RNX-N300X compatible with the HP Pavillion P6674y PCI slot?  Because the TP-LINK adapter I just purchased is not.  The TP-LINK contacts are slightly larger than the card slot receptacle.  The gap after the first 11 connectors did not match up with the notch in the PCI mount.

CJC - This is a Standard PCI Card and will not work with your computer. According to the information I looked up on you computer, the HP Pavillion P6674Y uses a newer motherboard that supports SATA Hard disk drives and has PCI Express card slots.  That is probably why the TP-Link wireless adapter didn’t work.  You will need a wireless card for PCI-E.  Hope this helps.
