Will it increase the range of my wifi signal?

That question is loaded with so many variables it isn't even funny.

I will point out just a FEW of the variables in the question you have asked.

1.  Distance.

The total distance between a wireless access point and the clients that are to connect to it can vary wildly and this has a significant impact upon wireless performance.

2. Interference.

The total amount of interference producing objects which include, but are not limited to: furniture, microwaves, dishwashers, walls, metal piping, refrigerators, wireless home phones, cellular phones, etc. etc. Some of these emit radio frequencies which can interfere with wireless access point's signal and cause range and signal stability issues. Some others simply absorb radio frequencies or they bounce off of them diluting the signal.

3. Signal strength.

The total amount of signal strength or output by the wireless access point. This can wildly vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and be a constant frustration in finding a wireless access point with with enough signal output to cover or overcome interference in your location.

4. Location of wireless access point.

If it is in a corner of the facility or building do not expect there to be a strong or even reliable signal opposite it. Also expect that for every wall at an angle facing the router that can double or even triple the amount of interferencel between you and the wireless access point. Placing the wireless access point in a centralized and as interference free point in the building is a good practice to follow.

5. Lastly, no, it will not extend the range of your Wireless signal. This is a unit that acts as a receiver of your wireless signal, not the transmitter of that signal. The transmitter is your wireless access point or more commonly called a wireless router. It may help in reducing interference with the included USB adapter extension allowing you to place it in a more open area, but other than that, again, no, it will not increase the WiFi signal.
