My router has no WPS button. Is it possible to connect this product? And, if possible, how hard is it to do? Are there directions in the manual?

Can you use it as a wireless bridge of sorts.  That is, could I use this on my wifi to give an ethernet port in a room that does not have one?

Yes you can run it as a WISP mode which will extend the wireless connection to the Ethernet port.  Works well for me.  This device has several modes which will give you whatever you need to run it as a router, wireless bridge, repeater and etc.

What I love about it is that no wall wart to deal with as it's a single piece of equipment.

Does anyone know if this is DDWRT compatible?

No,  it is  NOT DD-WRT compatible.

But, it is very portable when you travel and  be able to create your 
own "private" wi-fi network.

This is great as primarily a travel router. It's about the size of a deck of cards. But it can operate at a Wi-fi repeater or a bridge if you have a device that doesn't offer a wireless connection.

I see that the module for the plugs seems detachable, does it come with the parts to swap it for travel?

Actually it does pop off for a different plug.  Unfortunately it does not include additional plugs to swap out with.  It does accept 110-240 volts 50/60Hz so that part is covered. You might be able to use straight plug adapters for it.

No, it's main purpose is to act a a Router or hotspot for other wireless devices, it seems that you can either take one computer that is already connected to the internet and, via ethernet cable from said pc to this device, create another network that can transmit a wireless connection and share the first pc's internet with others.

Whats nice about this device is that it can act as a Router, like mentioned above OR also function as a wireless range extender which allows this device to connect to another wireless network over wireless, and re transmit that same network/signal several more feet and cover a wider area than your home router already can.

This does have some limitations that are technical and not very useful to the average person but anytime you take something over wifi and extend it as you would a "repeater" you effectively cut your bandwidth in half because of the fact that it in a sense, makes 2 jumps instead of 1. For most people this could mean going from say 50mbps to 25mbps tops, but as most internet connections are barely even that high and casual use rarely requires the need of such bandwidth nobody notices or even cares. Most people only notice or care about getting decent reception. :p Hope that helps. Also, there is no subscription needed for this you just plug it into an outlet, configure, and enjoy the increased wifi coverage.
