Hi, I just got The N300 On Networks wierless WiFi Router, .Now can I put it in my office, my Xfinity comcast modem, is only 10 feet away in another room,,, without plugging into the broadbans modem ? THANK YOU,,,,!

Try this one I don't own this one but I may upgrade to this. Can this router be configured from an Apple OS 10.6 operating system?

Yes. 
You still should consider another device as the manufacturer has abandoned this device. No new updates for the firmware. This is a security hole I did not expect to have to deal with.

I am interested in getting a wireless router for pen-testing training. Would this product benefit me? How?

Not sure what the requirements your looking for. You can always set this router to wep and work on trying to break that. Same with WPS. It has no shell access though so if your looking for that you may wanna look elsewhere.

Yes it can be, the configuration settings are more difficult than most though

the wifi password it came with be default is incorrect. how do fix this?

Just in case something malfunctioned, look first for a reset button. That will put all system info back to defaults.
Make sure you use name and password in correct places. I have seen some with no user name, but password looks like a name.

I can't answer for certain if it would or not without finding out what the wired, and wireless standards are for protocols in India. You could look up the equipment at their website(I believe they belong to a larger company), and also you could check with your Internet Service Provider. I'm sorry I at this point don't really have the time to that all myself right now.

I had no issues plugging it into my Comcast service.  I use a Motorola Surfboard modem and set the WAN port on the wifi router for DHCP.  No issues at all connecting.

Yes you can definitely hook your camera system to this router .

Would this router work with Comcast? I use internet only with Comcast looking to replace the Router I have to rent every month.

Yes it will work with Comcast. You will still need a modem to connect it to, which you usually rent from your provider.
