Is this Rev 1 or Rev 2 of the card? Rev 2 cards, according to the TP-Link Web site have a section in the software for Access Point - AP setup.

Mine is a Rev 2 card.  
So far, this card has been flawless, first in a Win7 install, which required the driver disk, and later in a clean Win8 install, which simply found the card and had a driver ready to go.

Is this compatible with Linux? Are there any drivers I need to install for this to work?

I bought this adapter to replace the dead unit on my HP P6674Y, and so far, it's flawless.  Through Windows 7, 8/8.1, and now Windows 10, this adapter has been perfect.  A bonus for Windows 8/10 is that no drivers needed to be installed...it worked from the word "go"..

No. This is only for sending/receiving an 802.1b/g/n wireless signal between a PC and a wireless router or DSL/cable modem.

It is for a "PCI Express" slot which are the smaller PCI connectors on the motherboard if you have them.
