Question 1

I am looking a modem + router combination for my simple Time Warner basic internet access. 
Currently I have a seperate modem (fromt Time Warner) and wireless router, will this take the place of both?

The answer to your question is no. TDW8960N is only a ADSL Modem and with Time Warner (cable ISP) you will still have to use you current modem to make this setup work. Here is some basic insight on the setup. Plug old cable modem in to port 4 WAN/LAN Port. You will have to setup the proper atm protocol/interface, then input VPI & VCI values for you ISP. I have installed and configured over 6 of these on CenturyLink & COX. TP-Link is a great company for low price products that are packed full of features. I always buy from TP-Link, but I would recommend just buying a cable modem with wireless and a router built in. This will save you time and frustration in the long run if you don't know a lot about networking. Also if your new to networking give the manufacturer a call to make sure the product is compatible with you IPS protocols.  Hope all this helps with your decision.

does it have a cable input for coax? Time warner cable is my provider tired of paying rent on their modem.

This Modem Router is for DSL only. It can be used as a stand alone router but designed for DSL.

WAN (Wide Area Network) Interface is a telephone line for DSL and Ethernet Port 1 that can be configured as a WAN Port.

No Coax input.

Will this modem work with Century Link DSL service?

It's not on their list of "supported" modems but looking at the wide range of DSL protocols the various approved modems support I'd say it's extremely likely that this will work perfectly.

Is this compatible with Xfinity/Comcast service?
I just purchased and cannot see how it might hookup!

I use AT&T and had no problem with the hook-up, just plugged it in and followed the set-up. I have had no problem what so ever with the router. Wish I could b e of more help.....

No. The modem in this device is for a DSL (hardwired telephone company provided) internet connection.

Will this work with centurylink internet provider?

I believe you need a dsl modem router.  This router doesn't have del modem.

Does it matter that my DSL line is in VDSL2-8A and this is for ADSL2+? I've connected everything, but the CD doesn't work on my Mac OS, so I tried to do this through Safari. The modem router simply won't detect my DSL line. What do? Should I try using a PC with windows 7?

VDSL2 is supposed to be compatible with ASDL/ASDL2/ASDL2+ You'll need to ask your provider (ISP) if this ASDL modem should work on their system.

modem has to be restarted every day. Are there any adjustments that can be made to prevent this? It works fine after rebooting.

your modem or router.  I believe it is dying.  Contact manufacture to replace one.
