I have never used a wireless router for gaming. Am I able to switch from wireless to hard wired if this is installed and vice versa? Thank you.

Yeah. Windows and most operating systems to my knowledge will automatically use a wired connection if it is present. You shouldn't have any issues switching back to wired if you need to.

Yes it does, it will use one of your small PCIe slots to work, pretty easy to install, download the driver from the TP website

No, a Wi-Fi adapter cannot be used for Bluetooth signals.

This will have no issues with Windows 7 I myself installed this into a Windows 7 rig a couple years back it came with driver CDs in the program and I have had no issues whatsoever so you are good with that purchase!

Yes, this adaptor is compatible with Windows 10, but you must first download and save the driver from the TP-LINK web site to completely install. I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro with an Ethernet cable connected directly to my router during installation. After the OS installation I installed the drivers for the wireless adapter.

My Ryzen motherboard has an on-board Intel wifi chipset. It is constantly disconnected and failing to see my multiple wifi options. I don't need record speed, I don't need fancy bells and whistles; what I need, is a wifi card that will just work, and work reliably so my personal IOT website will continue to function online. Will this stay connected throughout Windows 10's life-ending upgrade garbage (outside of system reboots)?

So far so good. Get at least a steady 180mbps through walls, a bathroom, staircase and a closet with the router on the other side of the house and downloaded a catalog of games from Steam and Epic and streaming 4K programs and no problems since.

How does the connection on this compare from approximately 10 feet away from the router to up to 30 feet away from the router? Is it stable?

My rig is a good 40ft away from the router currently,  going through 3 walls, and the rear of the machine is facing directly away from it as well.

I get a pretty steady 3 out of 4 lit on the wifi icon.

Never had any issues with stability when I originally tested the card only a few feet away while I was building the machine.

Only issue I had was the wifi dropping and having issues with the 5ghz signal at one point, though this was corrected by making sure the card was seated properly.

Might have been an issue with my mobo and the pci slots being a bit loose, though make sure you get it flush in there.

is there an adaptor to fit a pci slot that isn't pci express? that will allow the pci express to work?

PCI express is newer than Legacy PCI.  As such I don't think there is an adapter to fit this new PCI express card into an old PCI slot.  The old PCI slot isn't fast enough to handle it.  However, a PCI express 1x can fit into any PCI express slot larger than it.
